Love this build, going to try it as soon as I can! One question, would it be possible to play as a high elf? I understand that the dark elf has fire resistance that would help offset the vampiric weakness to fire, but I think that the 50 extra magica would help a lot, especially in the early levels.

Sure you could probably play this build as any race, as such you could probably change the race of any build unless racial powers are essential to the build. Dunmer have both fire resistance and their flame cloak racial power, so it fits best in my opinion, but high elf would be cool too! Magicka boost in the beginning would be a big help.

This is my first playthrough of Skyrim (oh wait, can you really ever finish it? :D) and right now I'm playing the alik'r also found on this blog - with little modifications for my tastes - doing the dawnguard questline right now so I really got into vampires, as soon as I get bored of my fist I'm  gonna try this one!

Also, would it be good to take the necromancers amulet at the end of the quest "blood on the ice"? It would fit the theme well.

Oh definitely. I have that one in my inventory at all times.

Please can someone explain the "necromancer" part? This is my first pure caster character and never used Conjuration, so how can I have 20+ undeads? As I see there is a perk that let's me summon 2 undead, so is there a way to have more? I'm not stupid, I just don't understand this part. Please help!

The 20+ undead is by using the ritual stone.

Woah! Good idea! Never really thought of that haha. I just went with Dark Elf for the fire aspect and I guess roleplay wise that race fits a bit more. But for sure, Nords with their daily power would be cool.

How do you go about dealing with fire dragons on this build?
