Enchanting experience is related to the price value of the enchanted item. Buy out all the petty/lesser/common gems you can and enchant every weapons you come across with Paralyze. I believe it had the highest value. Make sure you switch to the Mage Stone and sleep in a bed you own for the Well Rested bonus.

Is it just me or are Frost spells broken? This build is my first timw using them. When I get stuck with a couple ice spikes I slow down like a turtle, but I load a bandit with 20 spikes and they keep up with my kiting and stay in weapon range. Same with any other frost spells, I'm just not seeing any slow effects on my enemies. What gives? (PC)

Do you have the Unofficial Patches installed? Those might fix the problem.

I do, all patches and all up to date :( maybe I'll try a fresh installation and see what happens.

Thank you! I just used the console to add and play test higher level ice spells, works just like you said :)

How do I go about getting Enchanting to level 60 before I even hit Level 12?

The only way I can see doing it would be to grab a good enchantment, like the stamina damage from frokis bow in that cave under the ritual stone(run around the trolls), and enchant everything you can find to put it on.

Also be sure to disenchant everything you can find/purchase.

You can constantly charge weapons too for about half the exp but that is hard to do regularly unless you have the black star.

I like that this is the sort of build you can just 'kill things and kill some more' and not have to worry about the Merchant perk, training, etc.  I had a hard time adapting to the Arcane Archer style because of that.  The only real preparation involved seems to be getting ahold of enough petty gems early enough, and getting Azura's/Black Star before the dremora start hurling fireballs!

On the petty gem side of things, is 200 really enough with Well Rested/Mage Stone and very little disenchanting?  I don't want to be fast traveling all over Skyrim hunting down things to disenchant when I could be out blasting bandits with lightning bolts and hacking down draugr with a fiery soul trap silver sword.

Edit: Forgot to mention, Folgonthur or however it's called has a guaranteed Absorb Health weapon, and you can get a map marker to it by reading a book available in either Dragonsreach or the Arcaneum.  Not only is this enchant worth more gold than Damage Stamina from Froki's Bow, it's also, erm... really useful.  Got my 'quick test' character through those pesky necromancers and dremora on the way to Azura's Star acquisition.

Looking at a transcribed leveled shop list online, it looks like PC level 7 is when petty soul gems should become less available, but I'd rather know for sure before I push for 6 while looting dungeons for gem cash.  Can anyone confirm if a level 6 character still gets the sweet abundance of empty petty soul gems at all of Skyrim's merchants?  I'm not a fan of fast travel, so I'd like to minimize my hiking time. :P
