What Will Your First Character Be Like?

Do you have a gameplay theme in mind? Will you focus on getting and using only a specific type of weaponry? Do you know enough about the game's perks to know how you'll play? Will you roleplay a specific type of character? Have you thought of a character name yet?

Post your thoughts and ideas in the comments!

Angry, tobacco-chewing, moonshine drinking crazy Lis with a shotgun? Is that a gameplay theme? :D Someone who has a cabin with a view of the West Virginia mountains and hopefully - Bethesda are you listening - a faithful hunting hound by her side while she sits in her rocker.

I'm  not a very good player of any game, but I always enjoy how a shotgun handles in games, and I always have loads of fun. Yeah, it's probably a terrible weapon, but I still like them. Too much Evil Dead when I was growiing up.

And apparently people on TV already want to kill me in Fallout 76. Fortunately, I'll be on the PS4 server and so far, Motty and Deebs haven't given any indication that they'll kill me. The death threats come mostly from Karver.

Perks? Whatever lets me use a shotgun better and survive.  I don't know how this will fit with forming teams. What advantage does a shotgun wielding crazy bring to a team besides wisecracks and heavy use of a boomstick? I'm not sure. Probably an expendible distraction for the enemy while the rest of the team actually does the mission. :D

Sounds like a momma' Chapper whose favorite sentence is "Get off my lawn!". But what about roleplaying? I doubt that someone who's as much into story telling as you are hasn't thought at least of bits and pieces about a backstory!

The cleaning lady of Vault 76. Though I had also toyed with being the cook. :D

Well, here's the thing: My hand-eye co-ordination is really bad, which means I tend to suck at anything even close to FPS games. I get around that by playing either sneaky thiefy type dudes, or taking advantage of mechanics like VATS and perks like Blitz.

Clearly I won't be able to use VATS in the same way in 76, so I'm thinking that I'm going to need to be either the medic on the team, or perhaps the stay-at-home guy who does all the cooking and crafting. I'm OK with that - I love the settlement building in Fallout 4, and I'm constantly scavenging meat and ingredients for cooking and chems.

I do intend to tag along on quests and raids, but I'm probably going to be the guy at the back taking pot shots with a long-range scoped shotgun, and then going around scavenging amongst the debris.

Nothing wrong with playing a healer. I find it to be the most empowering role in a party. You decide who lives and who dies. And if someone's being an arsehole in the group, you let them die!

    Shit, I hadn't commented...thought I had.

Anyway, my main focus is just going to be testing out a few things to start (so I probably won't team up with anyone) to figure out what I'm good at based on the pace of the game. Because sometimes I'm better at running in throwing grenades before shoving a shotgun in someone's face and turning them into a pile of dead goo, othertimes I'm better at hanging back and sniping. I'm rarely good with Automatic Weapons so that's probably going to be a no...so yeah I'm assuming that I'll be trying a Sniper, but I can never tell with games.
