Fallout 76 'was right in front of us all along'

Sneaky Bethesda were teasing us with Fallout 76 all along - but most of us simply never noticed!

As a post on IGN explains, we were teased about Fallout 76 during the pre-war sequence of Fallout 4 - a sequence that I'm sure we all thought we knew word for word. Well, perhaps not! Certainly I never even noticed the Fallout 76 reference that was happening right in front of me

    Did you notice?

Meanwhile you can check out the lore behind Vault 76 in this video, which explains how Fallout 76 is mentioned both in Fallout 3 and the Fallout 3 DLC 'Mothership Zeta'.

Huh...I kinda zone out for most of that opening sequence so I didn't at all notice it. That's a cool little feature, regardless if Fallout 76 has been in planning for that long or if this was just Worldbuilding, it's a tiny detail that's really awesome to add in. Though I guess it's not that uncommon for Bethesda to do something like that.

Also Paul, not sure if it's on purpose but are the tags supposed to have two #'s? I thought it was a mistake and just wanted to mention that if you wanted it to show up '#News' you'd write "News" when adding the tags ratehr than writing "#News" which causes '##News' to show up.

I think you can also read about 76 in Fallout 3... so I guess you could say they were teasing the game ever since then!

Yeah, it was mentioned in some terminal with info about some of the local-ish vaults. The vid Paul posted mentions it too. It also mentions something about the fact that there shouldn't be any canon Supermutants running around because the master only falls into his sludge a bit later, but isn't there like a Vault in the DC area that was set up to test the FEV/create super mutants? If that thing has already opened by the time vault 76 opens there shouldn't be any issues, right? Not to mention that organisations like the Institute and the Enclave also had their hands on FEV samples from before the war; a similar situation would also solve that.

Aye, Vault 87. It's what they used as an explanation to justify the existence of super-mutants on the East Coast, actually, to avoid having to have them cross the U.S from the West Coast.

Ah yes, just a habit to hit (on my Mac) ALT+3 to add the hashtag. I forgot the site adds them automatically. I fixed them up! Thanks
