Legends of Vorius Intro/Teaser- My personal DnD campaign world

Hey all, I had some free time today at work and decided to write up a bit of a teaser/primer for my DnD campaign world I have been working on off and on over the past few years. Thought it easy and nice to share on here. Let me know if this makes you want to play in this world because if so I’m doing something right. If not...we’ll I’ll keep trying. Enjoy and thanks!

Welcome to the Legends of Vorius! Explore a rugged world, birthed by dragons, and bathed in a dark and ancient history of magic, power and conflict. Where once the gods walked as mortals do among their children, their distant echoes now stand as nothing more than legends and stories. A heavy emphasis on faction development, social encounters, eldritch forces, political intrigue, grey morality, roleplay potential, and a rich well of lore in which to build from, are cornerstones of a campaign set in Vorius.

Within the world itself, across the great sprawling continent of Ilara, glittering cities, like candles in the night, stand as beacons of civilization against a seemingly never ending tide of darkness. In the frozen north lies a land of snow and ice saturated in magic, that warps and twists monsters and the heroes who fight them alike. In the great forest of Ellond, the birthplace of the elves, the planar forces of the fey threaten to break their wards, seeking to consume all in a verdant apocalypse not of death but of life unchecked. Far to the south, in the steaming jungles of Nerroq, an empire of lizardfolk, yuan-ti, and a multitude of other bestial races marshal for war in their never-ending hunger for conquest.

In the desert wastes of Cabran, an ancient evil festers like a cancerous tumor far below the sands, hell bent on vengeance, many millennia in the making. At the heart of everything though, lies the eternal city of Valaroth. At the crossroads between north and south, past and present, this medieval metropolis once stood as the last bastion of the gods themselves against their dark kin. Today, this city of golden spires and sprawling white stone is the seat of the senate and legions of the high elves, the first and greatest of the elder races who call Vorius home.

However, despite all the malevolent agents and corrupting forces menacing the mortal races of Vorius, perhaps no threat is greater than that posed by humanity. Since their dark birth, the ingenuity, resourcefulness, and adaptability of humans has seen them come into conflict with virtually all other races and nations at different times. Their slow and methodical spread across the continent concerns many of the elder races who would seek to turn back the clock to a time before the stain of humanity ever existed...

    Edit: Stupid mobile formatting....grrrr

Would definitely be cool :D I've always thought it's weird we don't have more D&D stuff or ever managed to run a game properly...especially once Ponty created that TES inspired ruleset and all (of which I cannot link to due to being on a shitty phone.)

Yeah, it’s a pretty natural fit for most of us. I’ll post something else soonish to share and see what kind of response this and that gets and consider further postings.
