WiP Character Build: The Rimerock Witch

So I've realised that there's a very real flaw with the build. I really can't figure out any quests for this character to do. My general idea for the build is that the character isn't an outcast from the Wyrd or anything like that, but at the same time it seriously limits the sort of quests you can do. She's hardly the sort that you'd expect to be poppping by any of the major cities, and depending on the Coven she's apart of, any sort of interaction with people just doesn't make sense.

I don't know. My plan at the moment is that I have a few mods that add extra Caves, Ruins and Bandit Caves, and I really can't justify doing much more than clearing them. Any thoughts would be very much appreciated. I think (strangely) the easiest quest to really justify is The Main Quest or Thieves Guild.

I also managed to get a Reddit Version looking pretty awesome with the new editor over there. I think it might look even better than the current one.

Hmm you metioned she worships Boethia in there right? That could be a quest. Kynes Sacred trials might be another or the Blessing of Nature? If she is nearby Dawnstar would she consider helping them with the nightmares, if only to get the Skull of Corruption for herself?

The Pale Lady is also a bit a witchy type quest. I know you don't perk one handed but frost and fear enchantment on the blade does go with the nature of the build and might be helpful your ever in a tight spot?

Would she consider helping the Forswon, by doing the Forsworn Conspiracy questline?

Would she have any interest in the White Phial?

Is she interested in Lycanthropy? You could o the companions quest as far as geting it then just leave once you've got it. Or if you moonlight tales, you can get it and avoid the companions all together.

Would she help Iliia the witch in the witch in the Rift (Dark Light Tower I think)? Theres also another unmarked quest in the reach where you help a Hagraven called Melka where you get a unique fire ball staff.

These are about all the quests I can think of off the top of my head, but some atleast seem to fit the character the rest could with a bit of role playing. Hope it helped a bit :)

*Edit* Also could consider some of the Black Books or Spider Scrolls on Solstheim maybe?

Not really, so one that's Vaermina so it wouldn't make any sense. Secondly each individual Witch may worship either Kyne, Nocturnal or Boethiah, but not really all three. That makes it a bit difficult to really

Probably not, mostly because it'll involve going into a city (a major one that isn't too fond of outsiders) and she probably wouldn't even know if there was an issue or anything.

Would she have any interest in the White Phial?

    Nope.

Is she interested in Lycanthropy? You could o the companions quest as far as geting it then just leave once you've got it. Or if you moonlight tales, you can get it and avoid the companions all together.

Nope. Well she might be interested in Lycanthropy but not in actully turning into a Werewolf (and I can't have Moonlight Tales. PS4 so the Companions would be required and their out because it makes no sense). The problem is that it's an aspect of Hircine and has so many connections to him that it'd just put her off.

Would she help Iliia the witch in the witch in the Rift (Dark Light Tower I think)? Theres also another unmarked quest in the reach where you help a Hagraven called Melka where you get a unique fire ball staff.

Hmm, those are options, thought she'd probably kill everyone there rather than save Iliia. Different covens and all that.

No on the Spider Scrolls (they just don't fit the gameplay all that well) and Black Books requires some level of deal with Herma Mora so it doesn't really make sense. This isn't a character that's going to have anything to do with any Daedra other than Nocturnal/Boethiah (especially not the 'male' Daedra).

Thanks for the suggestions mate, I know it's just me shutting you down a fair bit but yeah.

I totally get the problem, you kind of want structure and thematic quests and so it's difficult to work around. Have you considered making it purely story-based rather than structured? Like, instead of saying "do this quest, then this, then that quest", instead you're saying... "this character finds herself in this situation, this is what happened in her journey." Some characters don't fit into the game all that neatly. It's easy to play a holy warrior as you know exactly what he will or won't do in terms of quests and morality right off the bat. Others just find themselves outside their culture and comfort zone, and those things can sometimes define the character, what she does and what she believes, what she stands for. So it could be you start the MQ and TG, but maybe along the way she reads a book, or someone asks for help and she pauses, thinking about whether she should help this person or follow a lead mentioned in a book which has captured her curiosity. Then before you know it, your witch is exploring dwemer ruins because they fascinate her, or chasing a lost legend just because she's real and exists, has impulses or curiosity, interests newly awakened that life within the Coven would never have been stirred. She can still be her and deeply tied to that way of life, but maybe these experiences and situations are what she needed. Or what the world needed.
