Hello, Classics group, Caesar and Medieval here with a special announcement and double-poll!

For those of you who are unaware, Medieval has recently come aboard to help Host the TES Classics group, and he and I have been hard at work over the past week discussing ideas for new group content. Now, since Classic games cover such a broad area, we thought we’d ask you - the members - for your input, namely the games and types of content you’d like to see more of here (As seen in polls One and Two. Please vote in both!).

To explain the options further, the first poll, “Games”, is fairly straightforward; simply vote for the Classics game you’d like to see us focus on. We’ll take the top three results, and use them as our priority for new content. Though that doesn’t mean the rest won’t receive anything new, simply that they’ll get less focus than the three “winners”.

Content, on the other hand, will focus on the types of content you’d like to see. The three mentioned options - Fan Theories, Comparisons, and General Discussions - will help us decide what types of content to focus on (in addition to the games). Note that like games, voting for a particular discussions type will not mean that the other two won’t get anything, simply that the option(s) with the most votes will take precedence.

In brief, Fan Theories topics will revolve around theories (Not necessarily out-right facts) from the games, such as why a certain item can be found during a Quest, or what an NPC’s true motives may be, among others. Comparisons discussions will focus on core features and mechanics, and how they differ between games; Examples include Attributes, Birthsigns, and Magic/Combat systems. And lastly, General Discussions is a more broad term, and will include all other forms of topics not covered by the other two.

So then, cast your vote in the polls, and let us know what you’d like to see in the coming weeks!

    Your input is valuable!

Aww yeah, voting :D So, for me I think Oblivion arguably has the most to talk about, Morrowind is old and well it's getting to the point where it's kind of dated (though to be fair Skywind should change that IMO) and well, not really something that's easy to get into. Oblivion has enough mods that you can change all the bad bits about the game and still have new stuff to do, so for me, it'd have to be Oblivion (speaking of mods, going to send out a message to you guys about them today).

So yeah Oblivion gets the vote, Morrowind comes in second place and...well, to be honest, I don't care about the spin-offs and older games. Though, I have to ask...are you guys covering Legends? I don't remember if there was even an official decision about that, but uh, that'd be cool too, I keep meaning to get into it.

Anyway, my second poll vote was General Discussions, but I might change that too Comparisons because that sounds cool.

How...How dare you say such evil words! Morrowind is the greatest, and all who disagree are nothing but worthless S'wits! :p

But really, I can't fault your logic for choosing Oblivion. It does have quite a bit more mods than Morrowind, and it's likely the more popular of the two. Shivering Isles certainly helps it, too.

Legends, I'm actually not that sure about. I *think* it was decided not to include it, since it's not really a "Classic", but then again there isn't really anywhere else for it. I'll talk it over with Medieval, though, and see if we can come to an agreement on it.

All three of those topics sound good to be honest, hard to pick just one. I think I voted for fan theories then changed my mind to comparisons. I can't remember why, I think that may have been because of the mods factor in the modern games. When it comes to Birthsigns and mechanics, how they change across the games can cause some confusion - like the removal of Mysticism as a school of magic. When trying for consitency in a project, such things can be difficult to reconcile. So I figured it would make an interesting discussion or series of.

Hehe, thanks for your opinion :)

Well we Caesar and I are in charge of Host TES Classics group and we will work for make this section a good and well developed complement for TamrielVault.  I love TES lore and as a TES fan I consider all TES games interesting on their own ways, even with their crappy graphics or mechanics. I would play "spin-off" TES games (by the way those games are canon too and part of lore), so why one would still playing older TES games?, I think the interesting is on details, I do not see classic games just thinking on gameplay, certain elements each TES game have inside gameplay there are unique, something told you a NPC (a rference for example), certain items, environment things, etc. I see classic TES games as part of history in certain way respect TES more than just a game.

For make a true TES Classic group must be considered older TES games aswell, you would surprise so much content and discussions can be made from older TES games.

We made those polls to start creating content related to what people prefer to see, and by the results of the votings, we will work at first place for most voted options.

What you said about TES III Morrowind, yes is an old game, but have its points other TES games do not have, is the TES game what have more skills types, more different kind of weapons and armors (and parts as pauldrons for example), unique spells, in my oppinion most balanced game respect gameplay mechanics, also I think is the most roleplaying gamein terms of Table top roleplaying game: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tabletop_role-playing_game ), such things are the base of all roleplay games exists now days. Also about mods just let me tell you something, there exists two large scale mods make Morrowind so good and for real put the game to now day standars for a good game, those mods are (links):

Morrowind Overhaul : Takes Morrowind to a high level respect graphics and also improve in game features, even will exige a lot for a good end video card and good OS on max quality settings. Thsi overhau is very easy to install due the developer made an automatic program to install and you can choose a large variety of options and settings for your choice.

Tamriel Rebuilt Mod (Nexus) and Tamriel Rebuilt official site: This in an unique mod, adds the continental region of Morrowind in a very lorefriendly way, the official TES III Morrowind adds just Vvanderell, Skywind is considering just Vvanderfell as work from "vanilla" TES III files, you could not visit the continental part of Morrowind on Skywind, the only way (not considering TESO) is with TamrielRebuilt, this mod adds the cities of Blacklight, Mournhold, Narsis, Tear, Necrom among others. The only game has implemented almost full Morrowind regions is TESO, I like TESO but that is not part of classics and TESO is about a far a way timeline, 2E 682 exactly what is cool, but with Tamriel Rebuilt you will find stuff related to 3E 427.

    - Also just add some good animations mods for TES III Morrowind and some better spell effects and just with those three elements trust me you will have a very good game.

About mods quantity, I can tell you well of course TES V Skyrim seems the most modded game of all times, it is at number one list on Nexus mods site, here is a list of position ranks of more quanity of mods for each game on Nexus site (https://www.nexusmods.com/games/ ):

    - Rank # 1: TES V Skyrim:                        54.405 files.
    - Rank # 2: TES IV Oblivion:                      28.491 files.
    - Rank # 6: TES V Skyrim Special Edition:     8.249 files.
    - Rank # 7: TES III Morrowind:                     4.534 files.

Respect Nexus TES III Morrowind is at top ten games with more quantity of mods for a game, so there is a lot to choose, If one consider play TES III Morrowind, and always there is a new mod released, people always are making mods.

About TES Legends, that is not a classic game so does not fit for TES Classics group

On TES Classics group (and I talk for my self) expect to see content beyond TES IV Oblivion and the content created will have the same efforts as for any classic game discussions, because a TES Classics group without all classic games would not be full, but do not worry we will start for the most voted choices ( I do not want to influent on polls in any indirectal way saying what game choice is seems is winning for now)

Thanks again for your reply Dragonborn1921, it worthed to share and express my point of view and in a short way to tell some things motivates me respect create content about all classic games and being in charge of TES Classics Hosts and what I plan to contribute.

Thanks for reply Paws, well polls are made just to see people priorities, do not worry thsoe three topics will be on TES Classics, the polls are for see in what topic we will focus to start creating discussions, so what topic discussion will be first seen on TES Classics. We have a lot to do and to contribute on TES Classics group, we got more ideas, but we have made arrangements on focus on those three for start, for each tipic there is a lot of discussions will be made.

Cool! Sometimes I miss the older Birthsigns and abilities, like The Lord's Trollkin Curse or the Ritual's Blessed Word powers, and it's interesting how these these abilities have changed over the years. I look forward to such discussions :)

    Hello everyone!

As my partner Caesar said, the time for polls have ended and we gladly thank you for participating!!, despite were just a few people voting is enough to get a kind of perception and also help us to focus on the most voted options. Here are the results:

Respect games the most voted game were first TES IV Oblivion, so expect to get discussion content about that game first, in second place was TES III Morrowind. About the other games well seems there is no much interest, but I gladly would like to contribute creating content for such games too in future. Our first priority for now for TES Classics will be TES IV Oblivion and in second place TES III Morrowind.

Respect the discussions content the most voted was Fan Theories, so expect to see content to that topic first and we got a tie-up 25% for Comparisons and 25% for General Discussions.

The next content to see at TES Classics group will be about TES IV Oblivion game and discussions of "Fan Theories" this discussions are kind of investigations about three main sub-topics NPCs, Factions, Quest Items. The idea of this is to "put all facts over the table" respect such sub-topic, in a presentation, describing for example the NPC where is located, who surrounds him/she, what objects are near him/her, etc., so we create open theories to you discuss also the idea is you create your own theories.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We are going to post a properly introduction about this new content, we are working at it for now and expect to see it on Monday already posted. Next we will start announcing the NPCs for investigation and as discussions for Fan Theories.

There is a lot can be done, a lots of NPCs, Factions and Quest Items to investigate for TES IV Oblivion game.

We invite you to keep visiting TES Classics group time to time as we are going to update it constantly.
