DLCs

  • May 18, 2015

Hey, people. So what are your thoughts on Classic DLCs? Which one did you enjoy the most?  If you had to persuade new players to buy some of them, what would you say?

I for myself like the Shivering Isles the most. What can I say, I just love me some mania and dementia. The whole DLC was just something completely different, I would say that it stands out of the crowd of other expansions. For me, it is the best DLC ever.

My second favourite is Bloodmoon. Becoming werewolf in Morrowind was somehow clumsy yet fun. Plus I really enjoyed building the Raven Rock.

And I have to say, I have never completed Tribunal. While the story was interesting for me, the Sewers were like a maze and it wasn´t fun at all for me to run in circles to find my goal.

    So tell me your thoughts.

I'm so happy I could just tear out your intestines and strangle you with them!

    That should explain everything.

Though for Morrowind  I kind of loved both of the DLC, Tribunal was very similar to Dragonborn (Skyrim) for me, an epic ending to an epic story. The final battle was suitably epic (though at that point perhaps difficulty mods would make it better).

Overall I think DLC are something that the Elder Scrolls series does very well. Knights of the Nine was great, Shivering Isles even better, Tribunal and Bloodmoon are both excellent, Dragonborn and Dawngaurd are excellent. I can't think of a main DLC that made the game worse or was kind of meh.

I think that Knights of the Nine had really epic quest, but after I finished it I was feeling kinda like: "Is that all? There is nothing more for me to do?" But that was the problem with all Guilds in Oblivion, and Knights content was just that. New guild. Skyrim fared much better with "end game" content like radiant quest and such.

You don't need to put Discussion: whenever you make a normal discussion :)

I know, I just thought it will be more transparent.

I'd say Shivering Isles is the most worth it of Morrowind and Oblivion's DLC's, mostly because Cyrodiil in the base game is fairly... boring, on its own. The Shivering Isles kind of bring back the unique original world to explore, similar to what Morrowind is, and that really enhances Oblivion.

I also really like Bloodmoon, even more so since Dragonborn dlc released, and Bloodmoon adds most of my favorite armors in MW, plus lycanthropy!

I hear lot of people say that Cyrodiil looks boring, but the thing is that I would prefer the fields, hills and forests of Imperial Province over Skyrim landscape. While the Skyrim graphics makes the landscape look better, it is nothing to Oblivion in my eyes. Morrowind had that dark fantasy look, lots of different climates and landscapes, but Oblivion had...well, Oblivion

But, you are right. Isles were awesome change of view. Personally, I am in love with Shivering Isles. Because they are about madness. And madness is so..much...fun! I know Jack, but who´s Wabba?

After completing Tribunal, I can say that it was quite fun, though the sewer sections were kinda confusing. The last boss battle was hard too.

The sewers really ruined my day back in the time I was playing. But Almalexia fight is really awesome, it was very good closure of Morrowind story.

The Shivering Isles was definitely my favorite from Oblivion. Knights of the Nine wasn't bad, but I loved the alien feel from the Isles.

As for Morrowind, I'm sort of tied between the two. I enjoyed Tribunal immensely, though the Sewers were a bit of a hassle. Bloodmoon I enjoyed because of how different it felt to the rest of the game; Instead of Ashlands, you get a snowy tundra. Instead of arid, rocky mountains, you get a temperate, green forest.
