The "Create a Poem for my Character" Thread

This site is full of incredibly creative folks. Many are talented writers, many are talented artists and many are great at both. I thought it might be fun to flex those creative muscles with this little game. The idea is simple, leave a picture of your charcater along with a little synsopsis of their personality and preferences as it relates to whatever gameworld the character is set in -  a Snapshot if you'd prefer - and someone else could maybe compose a poem or write a small story based on the inspiration that caharcter provides. A combat scene, or a little rhyme... whatever.

Obviously it is obligation free, but I wanted to see how as a community we bounce off of one another and inspire each other. It's basically a chance to showcase a character, talk about him or her for a bit and maybe receive something in return.

Is, err, anyone up for this?

I like this! Though I'm not really a poet, I'd be happy to write stories about other people's chars.

None taken and I'd be up for that too. Creativity is what it is, no matter the form. Or so Dibella teaches us.

But maybe we should stick to decapitations or impalements? Far more socially acceptable imagery.

Very true, Phil. Besides, why have such things as exposed body parts when you can have such things as heads chopped off, glorious death by combat, the saving of Tamriel, sweetrolls!? Really, why anyone would need porn is beyond me.

(Seriously though, I'm really OK with whatever. Within reason, of course. :P)

Hey, I'll give this a whirl. This is Rajhin from TES lore. As soon as I read his story I knew I had to create a character build for this guy... it's epic, tragic, but kind of funny all at the same time. I love stories that leave me feeling conflicted xD

For those unfamiliar with the Khajiiti thief god, Rajhin, he stole the Ring of Khajiit from the deadric prince, Mephala. The ring grants its wearier invisibility, supernatural stealth, and supernatural quickness. Is it any wonder then that Rajhin eventually became the thief god?

But Rajhin relied too much on the ring's powers, and it eventually abandoned him, leaving him exposed to all of his enemies. Thus, Rajhin met with his untimely end.

BTW--the image of The Ring of Khajiit is one of Mason's daedric artifacts collection... they were all fantastic, but I really liked this one.

A story on Rajhin? Why didn't I think of this sooner!? I'll hop to it when I get home (can't really write well on a phone). Who knows, maybe the end product will be added to Memoirs of Mundus (with your permission, of course).

Awesome Shin :D I hear Rajhin stole the knickers from Empress Kintyra before she even knew she was wearing any, such was his skill.

@Phil Where'd You see that? All I've seen lore-wise is that he stole Kintyra's tattoo from her neck. Of course, stealth-snatching her knickers is very hilarious, not to mention Khajiiti...

Well it's a meme. In Khajiiti culture he is an anecdotal god and so the telling of tales involving him presumably get more and more ludicrous... and I love that. For instance, Shinjin says how the ring abondoned him but ESO asserts that simply gave the ring back :D

True. That's what I love about Khajiiti culture-they usually don't give a crap about most things.

Very much like the Chuck Norris jokes that used to be so prevalent online ("Chuck Norris doesn't swim... he beats the crap out of the water until it takes him where he wants to go.")

I just thought up a limerick:

There once was a thief named Rajhin

    Who always got away clean.

Till the ring that he wore

    Slipped onto the floor...

It's hard to steal when you're seen!

Haha :D Great stuff dude. Inspiring.

    Rahjin, stealthy, furry thief,

    His cunning was beyond belief,

In and out, so very brief,

It's a wonder women ever found relief.

But when it came to loving he was chief,

Leaving them trembling like an autumn leaf,

Their cheeks as coloured as a choral reef,

And taking with him their tattoo motif.

You know, that's TWICE today that I've found myself saying "I gotta start looking into ESO lore." Those Fortunata quotes are awesome xD

Here's one: When Captain Fortunata says "Swab the poopdeck nobody laughs... not even small children."

    Or

Captain Fortunata' s captives don't walk the plank--they run... gladly!

    Or

*said with disdain* 'Shiver me timbers'? Captain Fortunata' s timbers shiver all by themselves!

Sorry. It's been a long day and I'm sleepy.

Recently started a new playthrough; inspired by Couch Warrior I decided to finally play The Demon Hunter, a breton undead hunter from The Arrow of Light (Guild of undead / daedra / vampire hunters).

    Lejoria, The Stern

Feel your back against the wall

Time to rise or time to fall

Time to prove that you are the greatest of them all

For they shall watch and they shall learn

The creatures of night now shall burn

Those once dead must not return

    With righteous might

    And flames of light

The undead I swear to smite!

Popular verse amongst the fledgling members of The Arrow of Light, daedra hunters from High Rock.

Blue Dremora that is exactly perfect! Thank you for sharing as it is precisely what I needed to see - No Snakes and Couch Warrior have inspired you and in turn you may have inspired others. The Arrow of Light is a faction I think we could all benefit from learning more about ;)

While I write the Rajhin story (it's already in progress, so stay tuned), I figure I'd post my ESO char to see what people write of him. Here's a backstory and image for you folk...

Darath Amodran began life humbly, as the son of a netchman. He grew up tending to the netches dutifully, but his true passion was reading tales of heroism and bravery, in the books of fiction and history alike. Eventually, he discovered a raw talent for magic, conjuring small flames and healing minor injuries, and convinced his gruff father to allow him to join the Mages Guild. Soon, however, he was with the Lamp Knights instead, under the tutelage of an experienced warrior. From him, he learned the arts of war, and quickly distinguished himself with the mace (and the axe, though to a lesser extent). As he learned the ways of a warrior, however, he honed his Destruction and Restoration magics, becoming a spellsword. When he heard of the formation of the Pact, he became resolved to fight for his people, and by extension the other Pact races as well.

However, agents of Mannimarco captured the poor soul as he was vulnerable, as he visited his father, now dying of an illness even Darath could not heal. He watched the Worm Cultists burn his home with his father inside, powerless to stop them. Soon, he was sacrificed to Molag Bal, losing his soul. And therein began his true adventures, for he soon escaped, and joined the Pact as he had once planned, though now his goal was to personally bash in Mannimarco's head, and avenge his late father.

Epic haiku! I feel like it's a good view of my version of Darath's personality, too (which I deliberately ommited so that the writers could make their own interpretations). Plus, it's a great haiku in it's own right, which is always awesome.
