There is no strategy. There is only die quickly or die horribly.

I've played some DS myself, my brother has played DS (And completed it AT AGE 13!!) and DS 2.

I want to say I was good at DS but... No I really really sucked.

The Bell(end) Gargoyles had me CRYING I was that mad, I've sort of learned since then but right now I'm up to the Gaping Dragon who keeps 1-shotting me with his tail

I've seen my brother play the whole thing and he's great at it, from what I can see it's a great game that I surely need to get better at.

Apparently Dark Souls 3 is going to be complete garbage on the Xbox One as frame rate goes.

I hope it fares better on PS4, since it uses the same engine as Bloodborne. Then again, Bloodborne seemed to have sub par frame rate in the first place...

Someone tell me why Dark Souls 2 SOTFS has better frame rate and graphics than Dark Souls 3 on console. You'd expect the next game in the series to be at least a graphical improvement.

If that's the case I'm going to be very pissed off...

What kind of frame rate are people getting? I haven't really been looking into the game that much, trying to stay as spoiler free as possible, but if it's a solid 30 fps I'll be alright (DS1 was like that and it was fine).

And I think DS3 has a graphical improvement as well, from what I've seen it looks pretty darn good.

On XBox One people have been getting like 20 FPS, but it is meant to stay at 30 FPS.

PC will be able to go up to 60 FPS apparently.

    I haven't heard about the PS4.

Here's a vid on frame rate for the XBone: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J5JysgprVds

I just got Dark Souls 2. Anyone have any tips for a noob that isn't "run away", "know the controls" or "git gud"?

Keep Human Effigy's on hand at all times.

Dodging is usually better than blocking, but blocking has its uses.

Hammers, ultra greatswords, and greathammers are the best weapons in PvE.

My brother just got Dark Souls III for Xbox One

Is it worth getting the PC version, or do the controls suck? If it's not worth it, I'll just share the game with my brother on XB.

PC version has 60fps, but you'll need a controller. XB1/PS4 only have 30fps, which if you don't know the difference is fine, but if you're used to 60fps it can be a bit jarring. I say go for it, DS3 is the best yet!

    Cheers, Raid.

I've been playing on my brothers XB1, I'm literally about to fight the Curse-Rotted Greatwood, wish me luck (Or something more Dark Souls-esque)

Everyone has. It's a recurring theme in the Souls series.

And a mod. http://www.nexusmods.com/darksouls/mods/24/? I'm not sure if that was deliberate but the guy in the song was such a noob.

The song wouldn't be called, "You Died" if it shows him not dying now would it?

Good players still die. Can't he show some common sense though? I never acted like that when I started and I still died a lot.

Didn't mean that - I died laughing with the number of deaths.

Gav is pretty bad at the original Dark Souls, last I saw. But those deaths were intentional for the video.

I currently have the Drangleic set and shield, Heide's Knight sword, the basic cleric's chime, and the fire longsword. Is this a good setup for a paladin at the no-mans wharf?
