Didnt Herzog play for Bremen when they won the Bundesliga ? Maybe him ! And who was that bloke from years ago ? Sunes.. something, he was voted best austrian player i think.

I think either of them have the potential to get to the semi finals with a bit of luck of course.

That is a title of dubious value. :-P  But I agree that Alaba will shine.

I am really split and might decide after the group phases. I really think some have the potential to break teams completely. Group A and B look like hell to me.

Netherlands vs Brazil final, 3-2. I support Netherlands, obviously. We'll have to make do without Strootman, but Robben's bald head will blind everyone under the Brazilian sun and score many goals.

Do you honestly believe that you'll reach the final and win it? Or is that your heart talking?

Lol! Robben is a great player mind, fingers crossed that Van Persie's fully fit.

Both. Van Persie was topscorer of the qualifiers, if he and Robben can keep playing at their usual high level than the final is a realistic thought, winning it too if some of our midfielders play really well.

Defenders are the only thing that makes me weary of Netherlands success

As always. With Strootman gone Van Gaal is going to play with 5 defenders, so it should be better than usual.

Yeah your defence is clearly your weak point but as some people say, attack is the best form of defence. ;)

Personally, I support the team, Argentina, and while I hope they win, I don't believe they will.

If I had to guess, i'd say that finals will probably be Germany - Brazil, or Germany - Spain.

    Brazil 3-1 Croatia.

Some very dodgy desicisons by the referee basically give Brazil the 3 points.

It wasn't a penalty in my opinion and that goal should not of been disallowed.

2nd and 3rd were debatable to say the least. Croatia proved a strong team though, it will be quite a struggle between them and Mexico

Yep, I was impressed with Croatia.

Mexico vs Cameroon tomorrow, if there's a loser, they'll be out of it.

Holland vs Spain tomorrow, should be interesting...

Todays predictions on my scoresheet, as outrageous as some of them appear to be, they get worse:-

    Mexico 0-1 Cameroon
Spain 1-1 Holland (although Spain haven't conceded a competitive goal since the dawn of man)
    Chile 3-0 Australia (Sorry Australia)

Lmao! Nah mate, they're not outrageous at all. The Mexico vs Cameroon is really hard to predict.

    Mine are as follows:

    Mexico 1-1 Cameroon
    Spain 1-0 Holland
    Chile 3-0 Austrailia

I'd also like to apologise to the Aussies! Interesting we went with the same scoreline for that game, I don't think anyone's giving them a chance.

Is Sanchez in ? Sanchez could be a great outside bet for golden boot, as well as rakitic.
    Similar, only two goals difference.

Well I wasn't expecting that result! Not one person in the world could of predicted that! Unbelieveable result for Holland, Van Persie's first goal being the best on the night for me.

Mexico dominated Cameroon and were unlucky to have two goals disallowed.

Chile were on top for some time in the first half but to be fair to Austrailia, they came back and were unlucky to conceed the 3rd goal.

Todays fixtures and my predictions are:

    Columbia 1-1 Greece

    Uruguay 3-0 Cost Rica

    England 0-0 Italy

Ivory Coast 2-2 Japan (this kicks off at 2am on Sunday morning but I'm counting it as a game today)

    Come on England!    :D

    Colombia 1-0 Greece

    Uruguay 2-0 Costa Rica

    England 0-1 Italy

    Ivory Coast 1-2 Japan

I Hope I'm wrong on England but we have just shown no class at all.

also so chuffed for Holland, if not us, I hope its them.
