Out of all the hundreds of combinations of crafting potions in Skyrim.  Ever wonder what that fortify Smithing of 140% tastes like?

I would assume it depends on the ingredients. Flowers and wheat would probably taste bitter

Mmh, a nice mixture of dwarven oil, vampire dust and garlic. Yummers!

Piss of course! "If you mix it with piss, it turns into candy. Delicious candy." +1 to anyone who gets the reference

In all seriousness, they probably taste like sugar water. If I was an alchemist, I'd carry around a bag of sugar and put some into whatever I made, since the components sound pretty foul. The actual liquid of the potion has to be water or something similar, since a lot of the components are dry and wouldn't create anything fluid.

If my alchemist was a Khajiit she'd probably use Moonsugar instead, because hilarity would ensue. I love the idea of potions progressively getting the character high by small degrees, that would be fun to roleplay.

Wise Man's Fear is a great book, and I am reading The Name of Wind now.

Even if it's giant's toe and swamp fungal pods, the resulting drink probably tastes like chicken.  Take a look at your favorite junk food ingredients, they may not seem very tasty by themselves, but you love the end result.

Yeah but all these extra ingredients would result in a failed potion mix.

Expert alchemists likely know how to make a potion's taste good. And probably aprentice alchemists make potions that taste like Cliffracer meat.

Smithing- 140% ? Tastes like charcoal... with rawhide...maybe with orichalcum to thicken it?

If you combine a giant's toe and a skeever tail... Well, lets just say I'd have trouble keeping it down.

Probably depends mostly on the ingredients. Still, I can't picture any of them tasting good...
