The Draugr's Oath: A Poem

  • Our skin is grey Like the steel we carry Weighing heavy on our backs. Our eyes burn blue They are ice, but also Alduin's inferno Bellowing the frozen forge That constitutes our soul. We don't sleep We merely pretend To be the honored dead Our arms withered, Like our causes were. Who did we bow to? What gold was flashed Just briefly, In front of our eyes? We stalk A living hell We fight Rigor Mortis What did we fight for? I can't speak now, The hunger is too strong.
