U.o.t.W. Chapter 329 Back to Basics

  • After several hours, Ivarstead came into view. Farkas strode down the pathway, slightly speeding up at the thought of a flagon or two of ale. He grumbled with the notion of Aela and Sotek sitting there while he and Vilkas caught up.

“I bet they’re down there eating a bloody meal”. The last time Farkas saw the other two was when their werewolf forms disappeared as they ran down the path chasing a rabbit just after High Hrothgar faded from view.

True enough when they opened the door to the Inn, there sitting by the fire with a pint of mead was Aela waiting for them.

“Ahh, I was told there were a few bears about, but I didn’t expect them to be so ermm… grumpy”. As she walked over to them, she held her nose tight. “Grief, you both stink! Go get a bath; each of you before I vomit”.

Vilkas cursed as he headed over to the table.

“Yea? And you stink of... Soap?” He leaned into her and sniffed at her once more just to confirm his initial guess. “How come?”

Aela pointed to the bathing room.

“I might be a wolf girl, but I’m no gutter dog. Eat then you both have a bath. Sotek’ll be here at dusk then we’re off”.

Farkas screwed his face up as he stared at the tub which he could see through the open doorway but then his eyes cast upon the bar.

    “I don’t suppose he left a tab?”

    Aela smiled broadly.

“Actually, yes he did. He’s left a hundred gold.”

Farkas’s eyes lit up at the thought.

    “Really?”

Aela smiled broadly as she held up a bag and jingled it.

“Yes, he left it with me. So, eat, bath and then you can have a few drinks”.

Vilkas looked around then timidly raised his hand.

    “Ermm… where’s Sotek anyhow?”

Aela smiled as she answered, giving as little away as she could.

    “He’s gone to fetch something”.

    Farkas laughed at her comment.

    “Fetch? He’s not a dog”.

Aela sniggered as she took a sip of her drink.

    “Actually, he is”.

Both Farkas and Vilkas nodded together as if they understood.

    “Ahh, Scarface. Fetch what?”

Aela blanked them both and just pointed to the table.

“Your grubs here, eat”. She then called out to the maid. “Can I have two hot baths please”. She then leaned across to Farkas. “Oh grief, and four bars of soap”.

Meanwhile Scarface was rapidly approaching Riften. His paws pounded on the road as he ran as hard as he could, hoping the carriage wasn’t already hired out. As he neared the bridge, he came to a rapid stop then transformed so he wouldn’t spook the horses. Glancing over at the stable, Soteks heart sank. The carriage was gone. He immediately called over the stable hand.

“The carriage, is it coming back any time soon?”

“No sir, it’s been hired out for a few days I’m afraid. We have a horse though”.

Sotek walked over to the horses, thanking Hircine for the simple fact that there were four there.

    “I’ll take them all”.

The stable hand shook his head as he pointed to the furthest horse.

“All of them? I’m sorry but two of them aren’t ours to lend, I can let you have the other two if you wish”.

Sotek cursed out then handed over a pouch of gold to the stable boy.

“I’ll have them both. I guess there’s no rest for the wicked”. Within ten minutes he was riding back to Ivarstead with the second horse in tow.

Aela was waiting for half an hour on the stone bridge just outside Ivarstead when she heard horses galloping along the road.

Odd, that don’t sound like a carriage”. she thought to herself as she listened to the sounds of the horses. As Sotek came into view, Aela found herself glaring at him. “What in oblivion do you call this? Two horses? What happened? Did Scarface get hungry and eat two on the way back or what?”

Sotek rolled his eyes as he dismounted. He boldly walked up to Aela and tried to kiss her but she pushed him away.

“No. Four horses or a carriage”. Moments later they both wrestled until Sotek managed to pin Aela to the ground.

He leaned over her until their noses were just about touching. Aela tried to break free of his grasp but he held her arms firmly against the stone cobbled road. She tried to move her feet, but her ankles were pinned under Soteks shins. Aela found for the first time that she could do nothing.

“Get off me, now damn it”. She angrily shouted. Soteks only response was to forcibly kiss her for several seconds while she struggled to get free.

“That’s what I wanted, thanks”. Sotek calmly stated as he got off her, leaving her on the road.

Aela’s eyes shot open wide as she lay there panting heavily. She turned to face Sotek, but her arms were still wide apart where he had pinned them.

“That wasn’t a loving kiss”. She stated as she lifted herself back to her feet. She then slowly approached him, watching him carefully.

Sotek turned towards her then shook his head apologetically.

“No, it wasn’t. I’m sorry, I had no right to do that”.

Aela pushed him in the chest hard, forcing him into the bridge wall.

    “No, you bloody didn’t”.

He took the horses reins then started walking off over the bridge, but Aela’s next words stopped him dead in his tracks.

“Do it again”. Sotek dropped the horses reins then grabbed Aela by the arms. She struggled more so than before even punching him in the chest, but her passionate kissing was unmistakable.

Ten minutes later the Inn door burst open and Aela yelled out to Farkas.

“Catch, we leave in a few hours”. She bluntly threw the bag of gold at him, not caring if he caught it or not. It landed on the floor with a loud thud but Aela wasn’t around to hear it. She was in Soteks arms being carried across the bridge by the Seven Thousand Steps heading towards their bear cave.

Three hours later Aela casually opened the Inn door then called out to the other Companions.

“It’s time to go, we’re leaving”. Farkas and Vilkas quickly downed their drinks then hurriedly followed her to where Sotek was waiting for them.

Vilkas stopped as he mentally counted the horses. He swiftly glanced around their surrounding area, looking for more mounts.

“Ermm, there’s two? Why only two?”

Sotek handed him a rein then passed the other one to Farkas. “Because there were only two horses. Aela’s riding Scarface”.

Farkas smirked as he watched Aela walk over towards Sotek. “Ermm Aela, haven’t you done enough riding for one day?” Her response was to slightly turn her head and growl heavily at him. She then growled at Sotek as she pointed to the ground.

    “Change. Now damn it”.

As one they rode off along the road which would take them inevitably towards Whiterun, but when they neared Valtheim towers, Aela dug her heels into Scarface’s side as she pulled on his fur to make him stop.

    “Whoa, ease up will you”.

Moments later Farkas rode alongside them as he enquired on the problem.

    “What’s up?”

Aela blushed slightly, then slapped Scarface on the side.

“Nothing. I’m gonna run with him for a while, that’s all”. Before anyone could say anything Aela dropped to all fours as she changed. Red instantly broke into a run after nudging Scarface’s side with her shoulder. Seconds later Farkas and Vilkas found they had to gallop their horses along just so they could try to keep up.

Due to Scarface’s and Reds speed, day was just breaking when they finally crossed the bridge near the farms. Scarface stopped just before they arrived at the stables and Sotek changed form. He chuckled to himself as Red stood upright and growled at him.

“No, you know we scare the horses if we just run past them. We got to let them see us, you know that”.

Aela changed back and leaned against a wall. She glared across at Sotek, but then he picked up a nervousness about her. He discreetly walked over to her and gave her a hug while he whispered in her ear.

    What’s wrong”.

Aela cast a quick glance at the others then whispered back to him.

I’m... I can’t walk. I’m bloody sore ok? That’s the last time we have sex before riding a bloody horse”.

Sotek couldn’t help but chuckle as he watched her face screw up.

You didn’t ride a horse, you rode Scarface”.

Aela grabbed him as she threatened him, but then she started begging art the same time.

Same bloody difference you moron. Please, don’t let me walk in like this, can Red and Scarface go in?

In just a fraction of a second Sotek glanced at the others who were waiting for them then he changed form. Scarface softly growled at Aela then slowly proceeded to advance past the stables, while Farkas returned the horses.

Aela transformed as well and quickly left Farkas and Vilkas following somewhat nervously behind. As they walked through the town, the guards looked on from the battlements, while a lot of the townsfolk simply stared at them. One person however wasn’t happy about Scarface and Red passing near their shop whatsoever. As they proceeded to head towards the steps, Arcadia burst out of her shop yelling at anyone who was nearby.

“What the blazes is going on, I got bottles rattling and rolling of my blinking shelves. You! You great pair of mangy fleabags, get out of it! Scram”.

As she yelled at Scarface, Farkas walked past laughing at the scene. “Watch it, they bite you know”.

She grabbed him by the collar, making him tilt his head back away from her while he listened to her rant.

“You just wait till the Harbinger hears of this. My shop’s a mess”.

Vilkas, pulled her aside, then passed her a bag of gold to placate her. “Look, it’s the first time in daylight they walked the streets. There’s bound to be some issues. Sotek’ll sort you out later, you have my word”.

She yelled out to Scarface who ignored her and just carried on towards Jorrvaskr.

“I’ll see you later, you hear me?” Moments later her door slammed shut, leaving the street relatively quiet once again.

The moment they neared Jorrvaskr, the Harbinger opened the door and stepped outside to see what the commotion was. The very instant he saw Red and Scarface walk up the steps, he groaned loudly.

“Oh, for the love of the Nine. I honestly thought, ‘hey there’s something going on, at least I know Sotek and Aela aren’t involved as their not here’. What was I thinking? Inside, the pair of you”.

Sotek changed back and immediately went on the defensive, laying out their side of the story.

“Now hold on. How was we to know her potions would fall down and smash if we walked by. It’s not my fault Scarface is so bloody heavy. Red, get inside”.

He pushed the doors open and let Red walk past. She headed straight downstairs after checking that everyone was in the main hall. Aela changed back as she neared her room and held onto the side of the wall. Her face screwed right up as she fought the pain, but then she jumped as a voice called out from behind.

    “Whatever’s the matter dear?”

She forgot herself and span around then almost screamed as her fists tightened.

    “Tilma, I’m fine...Ahhrg damn it”.

She shook her head as she watched Aela for a few seconds, but then guessed the problem almost straight away.

“Saddle sore? Go run a bath, I’ll get you some lotion which you can add to the water. You’re not the first Companion to get sore riding horses”.

Aela started replying but then thought better of it and just done what she was told.

“It wasn’t a ho... A bath sounds good”. She then quietly hobbled off towards the bathing room.

After a few moments Tilma returned with a small green vial. She poured it in the bath and placed a large towel next to Aela.

“There, you’ll feel fine in a few moments”.

A few moments was an understatement, as  Aela felt the difference almost immediately.

“Wow, that’s amazing. What the hell is it?”

Tilma smiled as she sat on a stool near the doorway.

“Oh, it’s one of Soteks mixes. He uses it quite regularly”.

Aela looked over to her with some surprise.

    “He gets sore?”

Tilma frowned slightly as she shook her head.

“No, well yes, in a way. He doesn’t always use his healing spells after he trains with you three. You all do tend to get rough with him, so sometimes he soaks in the bath with that lotion in the water. It sorts him out quick enough, so it would do the same for you. Why’s Kodlak yelling at him?”

Aela groaned then looked towards the door.

“That’s my fault, I couldn’t walk, but I didn’t want the others to know. Sotek let me change and enter the hall as Red. He changed as well but we somehow disrupted Arcadias shop. Scarface tends to make the ground quake when he treads heavily. I better get up there and sort it out”.

“You stay where you are, I’ll have a word”. Tilma closed the door then headed straight upstairs. Aela watched her disappear then sunk her head under water. She laid there beneath the water for a few seconds, then guilt took over. She climbed out of the bath and grabbed the towel before heading to her room to get changed.

A few minutes later Aela burst into the hall as she called out to Kodlak.

“Harbinger, It’s my fault, Sotek’s not to blame”.

The Harbinger held his hands up to her as he spoke quietly. Not overly quiet, but a lot quieter than what Aela did when she entered the hall yelling.

“I know, Tilma told me all about it. But why didn’t you just say you hurt your leg? Still, you are ok now I trust? Sotek’s lotion does wonders doesn’t it. Sotek and Eorlund will look at Arcadia’s shelving and sort something out. Now Sotek, I hope your four-day adventure wasn’t as much of a disaster as your return home was”.

Aela looked blankly at her leg then over towards Sotek who slightly shrugged his shoulders at her. He then glanced over to the Harbinger.

“Ermm, sorry what was the question?”

Kodlak looked over to Sotek who was now sitting on his step.

“Did you find what you were looking for?”

“Sort of, I’m not sure to be honest”. Sotek replied as he stared at the fire pit.

“Oh? In what way?” The Harbinger asked as his gaze passed between Sotek and Aela, who had now sat next to him.

Sotek shrugged and mumbled to himself.

    “Ok… Here we go…”

He glanced at the Harbinger, sighed, then started to explain as best as he could. “Well, he found what he was looking for, but what he was looking for wasn’t what he needed. He did however find what he needed, but not where he thought he would find it. Now he has got a load of stuff he went looking for, which he doesn’t need. What he does need however, was here all the time… Don’t look at him like that… You asked and he told you. Speaking of which, Kul-et, he need that Dragonscale armour back. Here as he don’t need any of this, you can have a set of Nord armour like Aela’s. this is until he can sort out some Dragonscale armour”.

    Kodlak stared at him blankly.

“What?” He then sharply turned on Aela. “You’ve been hitting him again haven’t you? Damn it girl, why?”

    Aela just shrugged her shoulders.

“Don’t look at me, it’s not my fault. I was told to, I haven’t got a bloody clue. I’m still trying to work out what Paarthurnax said about the daggers”.

Kodlak turned back to Sotek, completely confused.

    “Who? What about a dagger?”

Sotek sighed then looked towards Eorlund.

“Ermm yea, I need you and Adrianne to show me how to make a dagger”.

Eorlund scratched his head as he stared blankly back at Sotek.

    “What sort of dagger?”

Aela started laughing as she watched the scene play out in front of her.

    “Iron ones”.

Eorlund looked at them both, totally confused. He scratched his head as he thought about all the times Sotek had worked at the forge.

“But you know how to make an Iron dagger”.

    Sotek slowly nodded.

“Yes, I know. But nevertheless, I need you and Adrianna to show me”. He could see the look Eorlund was giving him and that just added to his own frustrations, causing him to snap out at the blacksmith. Eorlund, he doesn’t get it either, but that’s what he’s been told. So, after you’ve eaten, can you please show him how to make a dagger”.

Once everyone ate, Aela, Kul-et and the other Companions joined Eorlund, Adrianne and Sotek out in the yard. Sotek placed Kul-et’s chest piece of her dragon scale armour against the wall then attempted to show everyone what his concerns were.

“Kul-et you cast ice spells against it and I’ll cast fire. We cast one after the other ok? Fire, Ice, Fire , Ice. Vilkas straight afterwards I want you to hit it as hard as possible. Ready?”

Vilkas nodded as too did Kul-et then Sotek started casting his flame spell against the armour piece. Both Sotek and Kul-et cycled through the spells then Vilkas swung his sword against the chest piece. Instantly it shattered with a deafening smash. Bone splinters flew in all directions, forcing Kodlak and the others to run for cover as they held their arms up for protection. Eorlund stood there nearly speechless.

“But, but... No, that’s not possible”.

Sotek walked over to him and placed a shard of dragon scale in his hand.

“Not only is it possible, but that also happened to my chest piece. When I was still wearing it. I don’t know why or how, but my armour, and theirs is flawed along with the Dragonbone weapons. I’ve spoken to Paarthurnax, the Greybeards leader. He has asked…sorry, he told me to get you two to show me how to make an iron dagger. Then I’ll understand what is wrong”.

Adrianne picked up a splinter then weighed it in her hand. After she examined it, she dismissively tossed it to the floor.

“Very well, let’s get started. Sotek, follow me”.

Kodlak called out to them as they headed off towards the forge.

“Before you do, stick your head in Arcadias shop and assess the damage”.

Sotek stared at him for a few seconds then sighed.

“Very well”. As they arrived at the cauldron, Sotek and Eorlund did as they were requested. But the moment Sotek stepped inside, he regretted it. Seven shelves were hanging off the wall, and the entire floor was covered in a multitude of a stinking smelling goo and liquids. As the potions and ingredients mixed together, they formed strange colours and a foul smelling stench. Sotek shook his head as he cast a quick look at Eorlund. “Aww crap”

Eorlund slapped the back of his head then pushed him outside.

“You go with Adrianne, I’ll start in here. Where the hell’s Aela got to?”

“I’m here”. She stated, holding up a bucket and mop. “How bad is it? Oh, my gods what a stench”. Aela tried to back off a few steps but Eorlund grabbed her then dragged her inside, screaming as she went.

Throughout the course of the day, between fixing shelving and clearing up broken vials, Sotek watched carefully but half-heartedly at Eorlund and Adrianne as they showed him how to make an Iron dagger. He copied their techniques at folding the metal and soaking the leathers to bind around the hilt. When it came to it, he even copied their techniques with sharpening the blade. By early evening Sotek had made over twenty daggers but each one looked the same. He slumped down on his step feeling fed up and confused, as well as angry with himself.

Eorlund also looked tired as well as somewhat miserable. He cast a finger at Sotek as he complained.

“We showed him, until we’re blue in the face. I swear anyone asks me to make a dagger, I’ll shove them on the bloody forge. No works done whatsoever. we just got a bloody great pile of Iron daggers for crying out loud, Sotek. What are you trying to do?”

Sotek slumped down and buried his head in his hands. He felt like screaming as he relayed the conversation with Paarthurnax over and over again. Without realising it, he started yelling.

“I don’t know, I was told to watch you two make an Iron dagger, then I would understand. Vilkas, Farkas, that’s what he said wasn’t it?”

At that point Aela came over to him, she knelt just in front of him and held his face in her palm.

    “Hey, your blood running cold?”

Sotek sat there then stared in Aela’s eyes. He closed his eyes tightly then slowly nodded as she took his head and gently rested it against her chest. “Ease your storm, you’ll work it out, you just need time”. She then looked across the hall at Kul-et, then a thought entered her mind. “Kul-et can I borrow you for an hour?”

Kul-et cast a nervous look at her then nodded.

“Ermm, sure, what do you want?”

Aela got up then kissed the top of Soteks head.

“Steady yourself Sotek. Work it through, one step at a time. Kul-et come with me”. Aela then headed downstairs with a nervous Kul-et following behind.

Sotek sarcastically muttered to himself as he pulled out various daggers from a sack.

“Work it through, one step at a time. Bloody steps there’s thousands of them. Right, you bloody bastard, think”. He then held a few daggers one after the other as he laid out the steps in his mind. “Eorlund hammers the metal first, three blows it takes him to fold the iron. Then he takes the leather and soaks it while the iron cools. Adrianne hits the iron five times, she hasn’t the power that Eorlund has, but she soaks the leathers first so it’s more supple. I hit the iron four times, but I soak the leather as I go. The result.... Eorlund’s dagger, which is fine, Adrianne’s dagger which is fine, and my dagger which is better than theirs. Kodlak that’s no boast, it is... Look”. Sotek got to his feet and gave the Harbinger the three daggers. Kodlak in turn showed Eorlund them and he also agreed.

“Yes, Soteks come along way, I’m better at Skyforge steel, but he’s far better with leathers and Iron”.

Sotek slumped down on his step once more.

“So, Sotek what have you got? A bag full of bloody daggers and I still don’t know what the hell I’m supposed to learn”. Sotek eyed Eorlund for a few seconds, then pointed at him. “I’ve had him and Adrianne rip into me all afternoon, for what? Nothing, what a waste of bloody time. I’m sorry, but I just don’t understand. What the hell am I supposed to see?”

At that point Kul-et burst into the hall hollering at Aela.

“No! Get the hell out, I’ll do it. You can’t, I’m sorry but your bloody useless”.

Sotek snapped instantly after caving under the pressure.

“What the hell is wrong with you two? Kul-et I swear to Hircine tell me or the divines help you both”.

Aela just stood there and glared at Kul-et who screamed at her.

“She’s useless, she wanted to make you an apple pie but she can’t. Five bloody times I tried to show her, but she’s got no feel of it. She copies me, but there’s nothing there. She’s hopeless”.

Sotek stared at the two of them for several seconds then stared at the three daggers he handed over to Kodlak.

“You fucking pair of bitches, you couldn’t have tried earlier could you? Oh no! Kul-et make me a pie, Aela get Adrianne. Eorlund, show me one more time. Show me how you make an iron dagger”.

Kul-et disappeared back downstairs while Aela walked outside in a huff. Eorlund slammed his hand on the table.

“No, I’m sorry Sotek but no. Enough’s enough. I have a ton of work and no will to look at the forge tomorrow let alone now. No”.

Sotek walked over to him and tried to coax him but he was having none of it.

“If you ask one more time, I swear you’ll get thrown in the forge”.

    Sotek quietly nodded.

“Ok, fair enough”. He then walked over to Eorlund and stood alongside him.

The next second he changed then systematically started howling as loud as he could.

“Awwoollll”. Everyone blocked their ears, but everywhere Eorlund went Scarface followed and howled out.

Aela burst into the hall to see Eorlund screaming at Scarface but his only response was a howl. After several minutes Eorlund finally had enough and went home, but five minutes later Scarface started howling outside his house. Three guards tried to get him to stop but he just blanked them and instead of stopping, he just howled out louder. Eorlund’s wife screamed at him then physically threw him out the door.

    “Show him, damn you”

Eorlund stepped outside then swung a hammer at Scarface . He dodged the blow then howled out at him, leaving Eorlund no choice but to pace angrily over towards the forge where Aela and Adrianne was waiting. “That bloody bastards dead, I swear I’ll kill him”.

Scarface, who towered over the guards looked down at them and bared his fangs, as if he was smiling. Large droplets of saliva fell to the ground, forcing the guards to back away from the globules.

Aela laughed then held her hand to Scarface’s chest, bringing him under her control.

    “Enough, stop it”.

Sotek changed back then stepped rapidly away from Eorlund as he grabbed an Iron bar. Fortunately, Sotek chose to stay silent as Eorlund waved the bar threateningly under Soteks nose.

“I swear this is the last time. You come near this forge and I’ll kill you, do you hear me?”

Adrianne, pulled Eorlund’s arm as she tried to get his attention.

“Calm down, you show him first then get yourself off to bed. I’ll finish up with him”.

It was at that precise moment that the Jarl came down the steps from Dragonsreach.  yelling at Sotek.

“What the hell is all that racket? I thought you were told about excessive noise?”

Sotek sniggered to himself then turned to face him.

“With all respect Jarl, you said about Aela’s howling, not mine. By the way did you hear that racket from that blasted wolf? Scarface had a hell of a job scaring him off, but he’s gone now so it’s sorted. Goodnight”.

Jarl Balgruuf shook his head at Soteks audacity, then glanced over to Aela.

    “Aela, would you please?”

Aela smiled at him then called Sotek over.

“Gladly your lordship. Sotek, have you got a sec?” Sotek lifted his head up and glanced over to her, but the next second she pulled his head to the side by a bone spike and slapped him across the face. “That’s from the Jarl”.

Sotek dropped his shoulders as he stared at her.

    “What?”

Seizing his chance and not wanting to waste it, Eorlund chuckled then called out to Aela.

“Hey, punch him for me will you?”

Aela burst out laughing so much that she had to hold her sides. While she laughed she managed to say one word.

    “Where?”

Over the course of the next hour, Sotek followed Eorlund’s and Adrianne’s methods exactly. If Eorlund struck the iron twice then that’s what Sotek did. When Adrianne soaked the leathers for a set amount of minutes then Sotek followed suit. At the end of the hour Sotek had in his possession two daggers, both of which were tatty and near useless. Sotek smiled as he showed the other blacksmiths them.

    “Perfect”.

Eorlund looked at him, then at the others.

“They’re crap, they aren’t any good for cutting a bread roll”.

    Sotek nodded enthusiastically.

    “Yes, like I said. Perfect”.

Aela took one and examined it. She knew it was rubbish, the blade was dull and out of shape, while the handle was loose. Even the bindings were falling off. What really threw her was that was the better one of the two. The other dagger was even worse, and yet Sotek seemed pleased. “Ok, I’m sorry but I don’t get it”.

Sotek snatched the daggers then headed back to the hall.

“Everyone come to Jorrvaskr and get a drink. I’ll explain it there”. Once they all sat down with a flask of mead, Sotek produced three daggers and laid them on the table. He then picked up the one that was easily the best out of the three. “This one I made following my own technique. It’s a good blade”.

He then picked up the other two shabby ones. The moment he picked them up, one blade fell out of its handle. “These, ermm this one was made following Adrianne’s instructions to the letter, and the one where the blades now on the floor was from Eorlund’s. That’s what I was supposed to see. Kul-et, Aela I thank you”.

Kodlak picked up the blade that fell on the floor.

    “But Eorlund never made this”.

Sotek smiled as he took the blade back.

“That, Harbinger is the point. I followed them exactly. But that’s not how I work. Aela couldn’t make the pastry, she had no feel for it, just like when I made the dragon scale armour. I followed someone else’s method too bloody closely. They made dragon scale armour with different weighted hammers, in different environments. Basically, I never got the feel of the Dragonscale. If I’m to make a set then I got to get a feel of the scales like I have with the Iron. I’ve got to start from scratch. Adrianne, Eorlund I owe you both a massive favour and Eorlund, I will make it up to you regarding my ermm harassment. Now I know where I went wrong I can have a go at fixing it. But I fear it might take a few weeks”.

Aela held him in her arms tightly.

“It doesn’t matter, I’ll help you. Kul-et made you that pie, you want some”.

Sotek nodded as he licked his lips.

    “Please, I’m bloody starving”.
