  What happens to souls

  of agnostic men?

  Who bow not to Divines,

  nor Daedric whim?

   

  And what becomes, of those

  unbelieving,

  who live their lives

  outside Akatosh’ weaving?

   

  One might say, for argument’s sake,

  that the men vanish,

  from Mundus’ wake.

   

  Or else are somewhere, outside of

  our Nirn,

  outside of Aetherius,

  or Oblivion’s burn.

   

  What harm has become

  of the men without gods,

  who know neither faith,

  nor the love of the large?

   

  One may think

  back to Red Mount,

  and the fate of the Dwarves--

  from Vivec’s account.

   

  When Dwemer men

  left this plane

  for somewhere else

  some eldritch domain.

   

  And have since

  not been seen,

  And no soul nor god

  knows where they’ve been.

   

  The answer, one must surmise,

  is, to the lover of gods,

  no surprise--

  those who bend not their knee,

  to Arkey’s death,

  nor Auriel’s fate,

  not Akatosh’s time,

  those who pray not to Azura’s light,

  nor Bal’s desires,

  or Peryite’s blight,

  will fail, like all men out of gods’ love do,

  and die alone.
