SotF: Codex: Cateye

  • Cateye is a popular mixture amongst more sophisticated thieves and infiltrators as after consumption, it allows the user to see in near total darkness. While under the effects of Cateye, the user will see the world in a pale bluish-white hue; colour drained from the world. It does not affect depth perception nor does it remedy any previous visual impairments. Both magical and alchemical in nature, a side effect of Cateye is that it bends the user’s pupils to resemble a cat’s eyes hence the name. Additional side effects include increased sensitivity to sources of light and a headache. Khajiit who consume the potion will find it of little use; the cat people of Elsweyr are the potion’s other namesake.

Preparation of the potion is simple. Grind a leaf of Lady’s Mantle, two leaves of Viper’s Bugloss, a Nightshade in a stone mortar until the paste turns purple-grey then leave to sit for at least an hour. Add paste to a vial containing the humour of a wolf’s eye with a thin surface of alcohol. This will provide you with at least three hours of night vision. Consume within a week of preparation.

Hey Delta, I was wondering if you could check back the date when you posted this. Because the date shows August 26 when it's supposed to be August 29. I guess maybe that would explain why Lis gave you a warning on your previous blog.

I think I know why it says that. I made these posts as drafts on the 26th but only posted them on the 29th. Thought it was just a weird site internal clock thing.
