Member Spotlight: Todd

  • It comes as a great surprise to me that Todd has yet to receive his moment in the spotlight, but luckily we're about to correct that. Our resident master of all things Argonian (Sorry Tae) has gone by many names over his long tenure as owner of this wonderful fan site. Whether you know him better as Emer Dareloth, or Emer the Overseer, or more recently as Todd, theres no mistaking that Todd has, and continues to do great things for the Skyrim Blog Tamriel Vault.

"My name is Todd Kern, I was born and raised in Berwick Pennsylvania. Outside of gaming I enjoy reading, writing, drawing (even though it's usually terrible), and a few other random thinks like singing, dancing, and fencing"

Todd is a young man of man of many talents and interests, ranging from singing, drawing, dancing, and even fencing, but Todds most prominent hobby is knowing and mastering all things reptilian. You might be interested, though not at all surprised, to learn that Todd owns a whole slew of different reptiles. Snakes, lizards, whatever, you name it Todd probably owns it or soon will. I'm still on the fence as to whether Todd is human or actually some kind of sentient lizard-man. Easily Todds most admirable quality is his maturity, patience, and intellect relative to his age. To manage such a large site so well at the young age of 21 is no small feat.

Todds been a part of this community pretty much since its beginning. For those of you remember way back to early 2013, it was Todd, along with the help of other prominent members at the time, who bought ownership of the site from Paul and kept the site up and running.

"I found this site back when it was a WordPress Blog and was among the first to join when it switched over to Ning. I've been a member since October 21, 2011!"

Many of the great things happening on the blog today have been, in part, the result of Todd pushing hard behind the scenes to make them happen. Recently the site made the sudden shift to cater to Fallout fans as well as TES fans. Its a shift that has brought a major surge in popularity to the site. Through the good times and the bad times Todd has always been there helping to steer the site in the right direction.

I'm a character building fanatic so, as will always be the case with these spotlights, I'd like to briefly touch on Emer's prowess as a character builder. If you're an argonian fan you might want to bookmark Todd's profile page. Todd has made arguably some of the most creative argonian builds on the site. Easily my favorite build of his is the Shadowscale, an assassin unlike any other. No Snakes ALive and Todd break the mold to pieces with this build - an inconspicuous assassin that employs telekinesis, and kills you dead with your own weapon! I don't know about you but I'm eager to see what Todd will do for the Fallout CB group when Fallout 4 drops.

Todd has contributed to a wide range of groups. Really nothing produced by Todd has ever been anything short of excellent. Whether its lore, character building, RP, or live role play, Todd has probably made something you'll enjoy.

Aside from Elder Scrolls, Todd enjoys a wide assortment of game genres, in particular 1st person shooters and RPGs. Currently Todd is playing ESO and Fallout: New Vegas, but still occasionally plays Skyrim. If you haven't guessed from his profile page, he's pretty excited (understatement of the century) about Fallout 4.

Well thats all for the spotlight, folks. As always be sure to pester Todd in the comments if you'd like to know more about him. While you're at it, why not try convincing him to play something other than an argonian for once in his life?

I second what Curse suggests. I think it's fair as long as we're balanced.

I can understand where you're coming from, Ben. But I see no harm in having a balance where we do these for both hosts and members. Some of the hosts do so much for this site it'd be an insult not to give them a spotlight.

Probably because they are active enough to be hosts, and they get spotlights because they are active as well.

CHIM = convincing Todd to make something other than an Argonian. This is the true path to ascension.
