Prologue (Part 1): The Cursed

  • This is my first blog on this site and figured I would have my go at some fan fiction. Please feel free to comment and critique. I am always looking for ways to improve my writing.

    Prologue (Part 1):

They were young, they were in love. They sat on a rooftop during a star lit night and Nakir could hear the slight ruffle of a beggar roaming the streets and the drunken laughter of the Nords. His eyes watched how Artisa’s white hair caressed her light blue skin with the slightest breeze and felt his heart stop for a moment as her deep red eyes caught his.

“Drink already,” She spoke as she shook a small bottle of Nord mead at him.

“You still not tell me where you got this,” He responded as he stared at the mead.

“Just drink...please,” She said as he felt the cold touch of her hand slide up his neck and caress his ear. She always enjoyed playing with his ears and he never understood her fascination, but it felt nice.

Succumbing to her whims like always, he grabbed the mead and took a gulp. He instantly gagged at the harsh taste, but forced himself to swallow.

“Your such a boy,” She laughed as she snatched the bottle from his hands, “let me show you how.”

She brought the bottle to her lips and leaned her head back to drink down the last half of the mead and then gracefully swiped away the leftover on her lips. Nakir felt embarrassed, and grabbed another bottle. He quickly popped the top and raised it to his mouth.

“The boy becomes a man,” She taunted him, “Come on lets see it.”

Without a hesitation he gulped every disgusting last drop of the mead down his throat and instantly felt sick. He gagged, spat and coughed some of the mead on his brown trousers.

    “Oooh, my poor handsome boy.”

Nakir went to respond, but found only more coughing and gagging instead of his voice. She laughed and opened another bottle.

After a few more bottles of mead, Artisa enticed him out for a walk around the Grey Quarters. She danced in front of him and let him touch her hand for a brief few seconds till she pulled away with a smile and a devious stare then ran and he chased . He could never find her though, she always hid so well.

When an hour passed by and the distant sounds of wolves howling began to wear on Nakir’s bravery he began to yell her name.

“Artisa, please come out... Its getting late and we should go home.”

Only silence answered Nakir and he began to look around franticly, watching how the shadows moved, stumbling over stairs and rocks.

    “Please Artisa...” he begged.

A large object erupted from a shadow nearby and slammed into Nakir, he stumbled backwards till he found himself laying on the hard stone with a person on top of him. He wanted to cry out for help, but his voice would not come. And then a slender finger found his lips.

“Shhhh, my scared little boy,” The person spoke.

    “Artisa,” Nakir whimpered.

The person came closer, till white hair fell on his face and beautiful red eyes stared into his. Artisa drew closer and closer till he could feel her hot breath upon his mouth and then her soft lips gently pressed against his.

She pulled back a little to stare in his eyes, “Do you love me?”

“Yes,” He replied, “Yes, I love you.”

The sound of heavy boots and laughter froze both of them in their loving grace. A bottle dropped and shattered, echoing down through the street.

“Look what we have here,” A heavy Nordic voice spoke.

Thanks, much appreciated. I also love literature and I'm a big fan of creative writing, but I haven't sat and wrote for a long time... Anyways, I would love to see your writing if you ever get around to it.
