Seeking Redemption: The Chronicles of the Dragonborn-Backstory

  • 2 years ago, it all started 2 year ago. 2 years ago I lived in my homeland, Cyrodill. There I travelled in a small group of adventurers helping the needy and desperate. We were not about making money, only helping the less fortunate. Among us was a Cleric by the name Sébastion, a Breton, a bard named Belen, a imperial, and Dark Elf archers named Anrelri and her twin brother Arannir. We had come across a small village in which we saw a young girl in a stockade. When we asked the village leaders about her, they told us the girl, Nadia, was possessed by a demonic spirit. i stayed with her throughout the night to comfort her, as my companions tried to convince the village leaders that we could exorcise her. I saw something strange as the sun rose. The little girl's eyes kindled with a red glow. She suddenly broke through the stockade and attempted to flee. I chased after her to prevent her escape and tackled her to the ground. I had a choice: let her live and risk the safety of others or kill a little girl... ... ... I took my dagger and plunged it into her heart... She gasped in pain as her eyes returned to its natural color. Right before she died she looked at me, she smiled at me and whispered "thank you". I carried her body to the town where my companions ran towards me asking what happened. I walked past them and took her to the graveyard. They had the service for her later that day, I didn't stay. I traveled to the nearest bar and decided to drown my troubles away. Anrelri found me and tried to comfort me saying that the choices were either hill the girl or let the creature go, that I picked the lesser of two evils. Though it didn't matter, in my eyes I killed an innocent girl, and I was being considered a hero for it. I left them a note on how I was leaving them, I couldn't face them. I decided to travel to Skyrim, as I felt too sick to stay there. I thought I may have had the chance to redeem myself. Now I stand as thane of Whiterun and the Dragonborn, I don't know if the gods feel I have been redeemed, but I must continue my work to help out the people of Skyrim. And I also hope that Nadia is in a better place now. (I wanted to write of the adventures of the rest of the group but I don't know if I should what do you guys think? Should I flesh them out more? This is my first ever published writing so criticism is welcomed.)

I've gotten up to chapter... 4? I couldn't think of where to go with it, and I'm writing Korin's misadventures now... I'll come back to this, eventually
