A.I.I- Chapter 6, A Spark

  • I woke up in a bed, this one, however, was different as it was in the main common room of Jorrvaskr, tucked away in the corner.

    Everything hurt like crazy.

That made no sense, I distinctively remember being in a vampire cave having something sucked out of me into a soul gem and then being mutilated.

    Barely audible, I said,

    “Falenothir...”

    Surprisingly nothing happened.

    Oh god.

That vampire must have sucked out the spirit of Falenothir.

Vague memories still linger in my head though.

Wait doesn't that make me, mortal.

Well shit, four thousand years and now I'm mortal.

    I remember a vague name...

    Harkon.

That name was familiar in a way, but I could never place it to a person.

I also remember Ria, comforting me...

    I can't remember.

It was fuzzy, I remember saying things but not hearing them.

She was crying, and then I passed out.

Speaking of the devil, I turned my head to see Ria asleep in a chair posted beside my bed.

    “Hey, Ria.”

    No reply.

    “Well, fair enough.”

I looked over to the two other people who were in the room.

That dark elf who used daggers and Torvar.

I really need to ask people's names, I waved over to Torvar which got his attention but the next thing they both did surprise me.

The dark elf turned his gaze towards me, then bolted out the bloody door.

Torvar then ran downstairs as the dark elf ran.

    “What the fu...”

The front door opened again to reveal the same elf with a priestess in toe with him.

Torvar returned as well, Kodlak, the twins, Skjor and Aela following as well.

They all walked up to me as I tried to sit up.

The priestess running up to me, helping me get up and saying,

“You know you really shouldn't push yourself.”

    “Yeah yeah, thanks, sister...?”

“Oh, don't call me sister, I'm no nun, I'm Priestess Danica.”

    “Well, my thanks, Danica.”

“No need. Oh my gods, will you stop moving.”

“No, I won't. Now, will someone please tell me what happened.”

Vilkas, Farkas and Aela stepped forward, each taking turns to speak.

“Ria was worried sick, she wanted to look for you just in case something was wrong. We decided to set out to the vampire den.”

“We found you, mutilated. Torn limb from limb. You were barely clinging to your life. You exchanged a few words with Ria, but it's not my place to talk about that.”

“After you stopped moving, we carried you back here. In pieces, we put you roughly together. Then Ria shoved two potions down your trap. You quite literally were stitched together. You would be in a worse case if she hadn't done that. You should really thank her.”

I sat there for a moment, that did explain a lot but shit, that's a lot to take in.

Ria began to wake up as everyone scooted away.

“We'll leave you two to it.”

I gave them a pleading look as Ria gently woke up and looked at me, causing the next moment to be a long time as she tried to wrap her head around what she was seeing.

    I broke the silence,

“So... Yeah... I'm alive believe it o...”

    Couldn't do it.

Couldn't even let me finish my god damn sentence before I was enveloped in a kiss.

    Oh, a kiss.

I thought it was a hug.

    I pulled her away,

“AH. Ria. Calm down. Need breath.”

“Oh, right sorry. I just... thought you were gone.”

I moved over to the farthest corner of the bed and patted the empty spot next to me.

She lay down next to me and just...

    hugged me...

She basically recapped everything that the others had said but with a little extra about what we said.

“So, yeah. You said that you love me.”

    I blanked out.

    “Well... Shit...”

“What the hell do you mean shit?”

“Oh no, nothing. Please calm down.”

She calmed down and put her head back on my side.

“I take it you like me too.”

    “How do you know that?”

“No one would miss me if I died, no one would cry for me as I died and no one would spy on me the first day I came here.”

    “Oh, you saw that.”

    “Yes... Yes, I did.”

    “Oh...”

    “Oh indeed.”

We lay there in silence before I said,

“So... usually after something like that... People become a thing...”

    “A thing?”

    “Ah, thing.”

    “Oh like lovers?”

    “Yes, like that.”

    She fell silent.

    I spoke again.

    “So do you want to?”

    “Want to what?”

    “Become lovers doofus, keep up.”

    “Oh yeah, hell yeah.”

    “Are you definitely sure?”

“Never been surer in my life.”

She then looked up towards me and kissed me. This time I was prepared.

After we parted and I said,

“Hey, could you get my notebooks from downstairs?”

    “Oh yeah, sure.”

A few seconds later, she came back. Not just with my notebooks but with a plate of food and a flask of water.

    “What are these for?”

    “The reconstruction of my order.”

“Order? Wait for what? Selafyn explain.”

“I know. I belong to an order, guild leadership has passed down throughout the ages and now I'm the last recorded member in history. My order is only known as The Wardens. We are... more like were, an order of monster hunters and fighters who joined together to prevent the Coming of the Dark. It is coming sometime in the not to near future. I've been trying to get allies for years but no one would listen to me.”

“But what is this Coming of the Dark?”

“Well, it has some significance to an ancient dragon, an ancient man allied with an unholy patron, an ancient pure blooded vampire and an armoured man in plate armour. The Dark is referred to as a world-shaking calamity. Close your eyes for a second.”

    She did just that.

“Now imagine your deepest darkest nightmare, now imagine that in real life trying to kill you.”

    She gasped at this.

    “Is that really possible?”

“Yes, it is, my order was destroyed during the last coming. That was over three thousand years ago.”

I really don't think I should have said that as she looked up at me, a quizzical look plastered on her face.

“You can't be three thousand years old.”

“Actually most likely four and a half thousand years old.”

    “How?”

“Well after the order fell and the world was safe. I travelled the whole of Tamriel, I went to being a monster hunter. Nobles paid well for getting rid of monsters that spawned as of the bi-product of usual wars. In those adventures, I was tasked with ridding a cave from a necromancer. I killed the necromancer but found a cursed ring, it was bound to the soul of a snow elf. Being a sun elf myself it was a weird combination but we both wanted the Dark removed from the world, so neither of us will rest until it is removed from the earth. Now it is merely traced to Skyrim, where I hope it can finally be ended and I can lay at rest with Falenothir.”

    “Doesn't that make you Immortal?”

    “Yeah, it does.”

“Then why did you get mutilated by those vampires.”

“Well, that encounter was a rather strange one.”

    “Why is that?”

“The encounter with the vampires was different. They stabbed me with soul trapped weapons and instead of my soul, they took the soul of Falenothir.”

    “Oh, that's bad.”

“Not exactly, I just need to find him. In a case that something roughly like this would happen, I noted down weapon and armour ideas, locations of artefacts and people who I could consult towards.”

    “Well, could I help?”

“Wait you do realise this is different. You've had dreams to become a Companion, I can't come along and ruin that for you.”

“I can't exactly let you go out by yourself. I can't lose you again.”

“Yeah, about that. Did you really stitch my body parts back together with a potion?”

“Two actually, and yeah. I'm sorry for all the pain caused.”

“Don't worry about it. If it gives me another lifetime with you, then I couldn't care.”

She looked up again and before I could register anything, she had pulled me into a very passionate kiss.

    “So what's your plan?”

“Heal, gather allies, find Falenothir and rebuild The Wardens.”

A/N- Thoughts, opinions and advice are greatfully appreciated, enjoy dudes

A nice chapter. Ria's far happier. So he plans to rebuild the wardens Faction. I can see a fair few characters wanting some of this action.

I enjoyed this chapter a lot. ^_^ I'm poor at giving advises but he could find able warriors that can help him to rebuild the Wardens?  Keep it up and brainstorm some ideas of where you want this story go. I usually write the notes down and think ove...  more

Like the blades, but you can have more than three people in it
