A.I.I- Chapter 4, Vampires

  • Warning- Possible bad language and gore
Several days had passed since that day, I had gotten into the companions guild and was talking a lot to my secret admirer.

Her name was Ria, she was actually really nice. Everyday she would come in, a huge frown on her face and would always come sit next to me. I had officially made one of the corner seats my spot.

It was a nice place, it allowed me to survey the room and have no one potentially come up behind me. I had so far found out a small bit about this wraith bound to me.

His name was Falethonir, he was a snow elf smith from the first era and knew some decent schematics for weapons and armour. It was neat. He also had some really good tips on combat techniques.

I sat there in the usual spot as the wraith went on berating me about my faulty sword techniques.

“Come on Selafyn, you need to parry left not right. Backhand swish, remember?”

    “Yeah I know.”

Aela started walking towards me, a page of parchment in her hands.

“Here some work for you, clear out a vampire den west of the city.”

    “Thanks, when do I leave?”

    “In an hour.”
    “Ok good, thanks again Aela.”
Ria as per usual walked through the door with a big frown on her face.

She was cute when she did that.

She sat next to me as I sarcastically passed her an ale bottle.

She looked at me, I smiled and her facial features softened a bit as she grabbed the bottle and downed half of it in one go.

    “Easy there Ria, you ok?”

    She started to sulk again.

    “Stupid fucking bears.”

“Ah, so one of those kind of days?”

I heard her laugh at this.

“I'm needing to do a job, kill some vampires to the west of here.”

“Oh ok, be careful and don't die. I won't forgive myself if you do.”

My cheeks began to flush slightly,

“Wow erm, thanks Ria. I'll try.”

    “You better.”

I saluted her on my way out of the door and began my trip. Steel plate armour, great sword and dagger.

I stopped after a few hours walking when I found a cave with a large splatter of blood and several bones scattered about the entrance.

Drawing my greatsword I said to myself,

“Vampires, always something dangerous. Why can't it just be a bear?”

I slowly began to walk into the cave.

About five vampires spotted me immediately, I ran towards one and instantly drove my blade into its stomach.

I spun my heel around and sliced into the second when a dagger flung from the darkness and into my chest.

It felt like my soul was being forced outside of me as one of the vampires closed in, a black soul gem in its hand.

“Lord Harkon is going to enjoy the soul of the last great snow elven smith.”

I looked at the vampire, fear plastered on my face.

    “What?”

“Oh yes, we knew you would come, eventually. Now lets have that elven smith.”

It grabbed at the dagger and drove it deeper into my chest, as I screamed out in pain I felt an icy wail of Falethonir as well as I eventually saw him being sucked into the gem.

My ring began to crack and flicker as blood began to cascade down my body from my throat as well as the dagger wound.

Ignoring my pained state, the vampire handed the gem to another of its kind saying,

“Take it back to Volkihar castle, you go with him as well I will tend to our guest.”

The two vampires left the cave as I realised now what had happened, I was mortal.

I looked deep into the vampires eyes as it now had control of my fate.

    And I accepted it.

    Ria...

    I'm sorry...

I looked in terror as the vampire transformed into a great hulking beast with spreaded wings and claws.

It slashed at my chest, over and over again until my body was now open and bloodied.

It proceeded to breaking my leg and my arm as it finally reverted form.

It then stuck both of its fangs into my neck and drank its fill.

“Ah, thanks for the meal. Pity you won't survive from that.”

I couldn't do anything. I lay there face against the floor as I bled. Until a nice cool darkness took me. I take it this is where I end.

If you have any questions about it then feel free to post it in the discussion. That way I can gather bits I may have missed or not explained properly. In short it helps me to help the rest of the pack.
No thanks necessary. (seriously don't thank me...  more
