    Prologue: Meant for Greatness

17th of Last Seed 204. , Sadrith Mora

Aleya was standing on the balcony of the wizard tower called Tel Naga. She was obviously nervous. For the past three years, she has been training and perfecting her skills with the arcane arts. And now, she was waiting to see if all that training will pay off in the end. Six hours ago, she entered Tel Naga and started her trial. If she passed, she will join the now legendary wizard school of Illusion magic. The tower has been converted into a school a few decades ago, when the previous owner died and left the tower to the Great House of Telvanni. The House of Mages redecorated the entire tower and grew it even further. It was big enough to be in it's own district of Sadrith Mora.Aleya heard the door open behind her. She saw her best friend, Birrayne Setfass, as he waved towards the hallway. Aleya approached him.

''They are ready to vote.'' Said Birrayne.

Aleya smiled. Finaly, she thought to herself. Now was the moment she was waiting for. The next few minutes will decided the course of the rest of her life. She was ready to her the Telvanni Council. She entered the hallway and made her way towards the main chamber with Birrayne.

''How does it look? Will they accept me?'' asked Aleya.

''They seemed impressed by you, but with the Council you can never be sure in anything.'' Said Birrayne.

As they walked through the hallway, Aleya looked at the statues of former great wizards of the House of Telvanni. All these mages accomplished great things for the Telvanni and were held in high regard. Under the statues, there was an inscription. The motto of the House of Telvanni.

The forcefull expresion of will gives true honor to the Ancestors

Aleya smiled. She was now confident that she would join the school and become a master wizard, the pride of House of Telvanni. They entered the main chamber. The chamber was huge but empty. Except for a few small decorations and plants, the only prominent thing was the Council desk,  by witch sat six Councilors.

''Step forward.'' Said one of the Councilors.

He didn't raise his voice, but it sounded like it as the sound echoed through the chamber. Because of the echo, Aleya's confidence lowered and she was nervous again. She stepped in front of the Council table, shaking a bit. One of the Councilors noticed this.

''Don't be nervous, child. You did well on your trial. This is only formal.'' He said.

Aleya calmed herself down. She passed her trial, but even the best were turned down. She noticed the drop of sweat rolling down her neck. Strange. It was almost winter. The Councilors were discussing her trial and acceptence, throwing their eyes between themselves and Aleya. After a few minutes, they finaly made a decision.

''Aleya Telvanni. We have made a decision. After carefully examining your trial and the results, we have decided to welcome you to the Tel Naga school of Illusion.'' Said the Councilor. Aleya jumped out of joy and started laughing. Birrayne smiled as he looked at her. However, her joy was cut short.

''Under one condition.“ Said the Councilor.

Aleya froze and stared at the Councilor. ''What condition?'' she asked.

''Simple. We want you to go to Solstheim and document any magical artifacts you manage to find. We will finance you for a two month expedition to the north side of the island. You will also be given a small house on the south side of the island. But, before that you will travel to Skyrim. There you will find your team. First is an Imperial that goes by the name of Aria Decanus. She is a former thief and skilled with locks and obstacles. Second is a Khajiit by the name of Ri'raji. He is currently being held in a prison in Riften. His agility is unmatched and he is a skilled climber, both of which you'll need in Solstheim.''

Aleya was shocked. That was a big quest. And another two months away from the school. She couldn't believe it. She wasn't a field type.

''There is something else. We learned that your father has planned a trip to Solstheim. He will be going to Tel Mithryn in two weeks, we want you on that ship. He can give you additional support for the expedition.'' Explained the Councilor and waved towards the exit.

Aleya and Birrayne exited the tower and found themselves on the streets of Sadrith Mora. Aleya started walking towards her house while Birrayne followed her.

''I can't belive this!'' said Aleya in frustration.

''You have to complete this task if you wish to enter the school.'' Said Birrayne.

''I know. It's just, I'm not a field schoolar. I just want to learn about magic.'' Said Aleya.

''I can come with you. I always wanted to visit Solstheim. Besides, you could use another pair of hands.'' Said Birrayne.

Aleya stopped and turned around. ''You would do that for me?'' she asked.

''Of course. And I've heard that the northern climate is good for health.'' Said Birrayne and smiled.

''Thank you so much!'' said Aleya and hugged him.

''Anything for a friend.'' Said Birrayne.

They made their way to Aleya's house. Aleya turned to Birrayne.

''When do we leave?'' asked Birrayne. Aleya amswered. ''In two days. I just want to say goodbye to everyone. Won't see them for a long time. Meet me at the Port of Vivec at dawn.'' Said Aleya and entered her house. She made her way to her room. She sat on her bed and took off her pants, revealing her smooth dark skin. She took off her shirt and layed down on the bed. She thought about her upcoming quest. It won't be easy. Her father told her she was meant for greatness. It didn't look like it at the moment. Two month expedition to Solstheim. Great. The last thing she needed right now. But, she was willing to accomplish this task. She was going to enter the school of Illusion, no matter what.

Glad you like it. I broke the lore here and there. Should put a warning in the ToC. I,m taking this slowly, writing several drafts for a chapter before deciding what goes best. So publishing won't be frequent.

Frequency doesn't matter. Some people have a chapter every few weeks or so while others post around once a month.
As for Lore, some follow it as much as they can while others delve into it every so often. either way is good.
