    Chapter 6: Dragonborn

Theryn and Val finaly made it out of the cave and found themselves above Lake Ilinalta in Falkreath Hold. "Alright, Val. Let's get back to Whiterun." said Theryn as they started their descent.

Theryn looked at Val as she jumped off a rock. He was shocked by what he saw. "Val. Your hair."

Val sighed. "I know. It's dirty." Theryn pointed at her. "No." he said. "It's changing color."

"WHAT!?" yelled Val as she looked at her hair. The golden hair was slowly turning black. "No, no, no." Val started to panic.

"Don't panic! Will go to the healer in Whiterun. It's must do something with you touching that wall in the barrow." said Theryn.

Val calmed down but the shock still hasn't left her eyes as she kept looking at her hair. "Okay, okay. Let's just hurry."

They managed to get down to the lake. "We should get some water and something to eat. We spent to much time in the barrow. We'll set up camp here." said Theryn. Val nodded and went to the lake.

Theryn took out his bow and went into the nearby woods. After half an hour he saw a rabbit drinking some water from the lake. He aimed his bow at him and released the arrow.

He gutted the rabbit and returned back to camp. He smiled when he saw Val struggling to set the tent.

"I'll show you how to do it." he said as he put the rabbit down.

Val looked as Theryn put the tent up, writing it in her book.

After the tent was finished, Theryn got the campfire going and put the rabbit above it.

They at around the fire. "How do you know all these things?" asked Val.

"What things?" said Theryn. Val kicked him. "All of this. You know how to teach magic, you can take down bandits and draugr with no problems. When did you learn this?" said Val.

"My father taught me some. I learned the rest by myself." said Theryn.

"So your father died at the Crystal Tower in the Oblivion Crisis?" asked Val.

"Ye... No." said Theryn as he frowned. "My father survived the Oblivion Crisis."

"Then how did he die?" asked Val.

4E 175, Battle of the Red Ring

The last day of the Battle of the Red Ring has dawned and general Jonna has taken position south of the Imperial City to prevent the Aldmeri forces from escaping the Imperial City which was under siege by the Imperial forces of Titus II.

General Jonna's battered troops were still holding the line and waiting for what was likely the last Aldmeri attempt to escape the city. Theryn was standing in the first row in Imperial heavy armor.

After an hour they saw an Aldmeri force coming their way.

"Captain, enemy number estimate." said Jonna. The captain responded. "1300 troops and 150 cavalry, ma'am."

Jonna put her helmet on and got off her horse, joining the front row. "Captain, on my signal, you will form pikewall. They'll use their cavalry to punch a hole in our lines. Their troops don't want a fight." she said.

Jonna stepped out. "Before us lies an enemy that is tired and hungry. They are trying to escape and go home. Normally we wold let them go, but these elves have destroyed our land and slaughtered our families. They will not pass through this line."

Jonna looked at Theryn. "We are Nords. But with us stand Redguards, Argonians and High Elves. I want them to know. If you die, there will be a place waiting for you in Sovngarde."

Jonna returned to her position and grabbed her pike. The Aldmeri cavalry was approaching fast.

Jonna gave her order. "Prepare pikewall." The pikewall was ready for the incoming cavalry.

"Legionaries! Send them to Oblivion!" yelled Jonna and the army responded. "AHU!"

The cavalry hit the line with such a force that it sent some of the legionaries flying. But the cavalry charge was ineffective as most of the horsemen were taken down by the pikes. The row broke apart and surrounded the remaining cavalry forces. Within minutes the cavalry was wiped out. The advancing Aldmeri forces stopped.

"Legionaries! Form testudo!" yelled Jonna as the Legion forces in the front row raised their shields and the men behind put their shields above the heads of the men in front of them.

"LEGION! ADVANCE!" yelled Jonna as they went towards the Aldmeri forces.

The Legion forces closed in on the Aldmeri army as the Aldmer forces assaulted them.

Just as the Aldmeri troops reached the Legion ranks. "Brake formation!" yelled Jonna and the Legion forces broke apart, swallowing the Aldmeri forces and the fight begun.

The Aldmeri troops were losing but fought as hard as they could while mages and archers exchanged their projectiles.

Theryn was slashing his way to the Aldmeri captain.

He saw the captain fighting against several legionaries. "He's mine!" yelled Theryn to them.

He was shocked when the Aldmeri captain turned around.

"Son." said the captain. Theryn was still shocked. "What are you doing here, father?" he asked.

"I'm helping my people survive and go home." he said. "The real question is what are you doing in an enemy's armor?"

"The Thalmor are wrong, father." said Theryn. "The Empire is the only thing holding Tamriel together."

"NO!" yelled his father. "The age of man is at an end! And if you won't join my side, you will die by theirs!"

At that moment, the captain ran towards Theryn and swinged his sword but the blow was deflected. Another strike came but was blocked by Theryn's shield. Theryn countered and striked his father's shield. They continued fighting for several minutes when Theryn managed to land a strike on his father, sending him to the ground.

    "It is over!" yelled Theryn.

"Just because we have lost this battle, it does not mean we have been defeated. One day, man will fall." said his father.

"Perhaps." said Theryn. "But not now." He raised his sword and swinged it down.

The sword landed near his fathers head. "Go home, father." said Theryn. "Visit mother's tomb one more time."

His father stood up and nodded. At that moment and arrow hit him in the chest and he fell down on the ground.

    "FATHER!" yelled Theryn.

    4E 201, Lake Ilinalta

"I'm sorry, Theryn." said Val after Theryn finished his story. "It's okay. I'm over it." said Theryn.

"The last thing he said to me was that he was proud of me and wanted to be buried next to my mother." said Theryn.

The next day they were nearing Whiterun when a guard ran to them. "The Jarl needs you now." he said.

They went up to Dragonsreach and meet the Jarl. "We got the Dragonstone." said Val.

"There is something more urgent then that." said the Jarl. "I need you to go to the Western Watchtower. There has been a dragon seen there. Irileth is already there."

Theryn and Val raced out of Whiterun and made it to the Watchtower.

They meet Irileth. "What's the situation?" asked Theryn. "I don't know. We haven't seen the dragon yet."

Just then, they heard a thundering roar and a giant silver beast came down from the mountains towards the tower.

    "It's here!" yelled Ilireth. "Archers!"

The archers started firing arrows at the dragon, hitting him in his stomach.

"Val." said Theryn. "Use fireballs on it."

Val started sending fire into the air and the beast got hit, falling to the ground.

The battle continued until the beast got tired. Val saw the dragon creating the flamable mix of his saliva and  air in his mouth, ready to engulf Theryn in fire. She casted a fireball and sent it towards the dragon.

As the fireball entered his mouth, the mix ignited and blew the dragons head apart.

"WHOA!" jumped Theryn. "What was that?" he asked.

"It's called skill." said Val as they approached the dragons corpse.

They were shocked when they saw the dragon burn away. An orange and red light exited the corpse and engulfed Val in it, lifting her in the air.

"Val." said Theryn as he and the guards looked at Val.

She was lifted two meters into the air and then dropped down, unconscious.

"VAL!" yelled Theryn as he ran towards her. He turned to Irileth. "We have to get her to a healer."
