Fall of the Falmer

  • Blue Sky. Kyne's Breath upon our faces, Raging sea beneath our feet. New lands appear before us: Skyrim, our new fatherland. May it carry us for eternity. Elves, Elves, fires abound! War breaks out in every city, Men and Elves are slain like beasts. Ysgramor, Father of Men! He returns from his journey with the Five Hundred Into the valleys they ride The Elves are gone, broken, blinded; Betrayed by those who gave shelter from the storm; None shall walk the lands above. War, war, another below! Mer against Mer spill blood, The quietest of slaves cries for blood Nothing remains of the time before, Nothing but blinded beasts who live in caverns. While the men stare at the Blue Sky. Kyne's Breath upon their faces. Raging sea upon their shores. The Five Hundred now number uncountable. As the Elves sit in saddened squalor A shadow of their culture Disgrace upon Nirn.

Nice poem, but upon thinking of elves, anyone know what Thal means? As in thalmor. Mer means elves, Mor could mean something similar. Just want to know the etymology of Thalmor.
Of course it could just be a coincidence...
