Overconfidence is a Flimsy Shield
In order to celebrate his acceptance of the beast blood, Aela and Skjor had decided to bring him along to slaughter a group of the Silver Hand. Of course, there wouldn't be cake afterwards...

But once they'd gotten to the end, they found Skjor dead on the floor. Like an overconfident idiot he headed in by himself, unaware of the threat of "The Skinner". Aela was utterly furious, and after returning to Jorrvaskr she decided to strike back at the Silver Hand in revengeance.
