Chapter 2: A Costly Venture
Entry 14.

Not long after I first stepped off the ship at Raven Rock, I was drawn to a mostly buried barrow by a feeling of power similar to when I was drawn towards Forrelhost.

I was initially surprised to find a Dunmer standing among the remains of a camp. He claimed that he was a treasure hunter in search of what the barrow had to offer. There was only one problem, he didn’t have the funds to hire people to dig out the entrance. Realising what he was after I offered to help him in exchange for a share of whatever he found. My work for the Companions had left me with a reasonable sum of septims, so it was easy enough to get together the funds for the excavation.

Throughout the month that I spent on Solstheim dealing with Miraak, I received a number of letters from my new partner and each time I would find the camp around the barrow overrun with draugr. Each time the power I could sense from within would grow stronger and at times it would even keep me awake, and so I provided more septims to hire new miners and guards.

Eventually I received the letter that I mentioned in my last entry, but this time when I returned to the barrow there was no sight of the Dunmer that had started it all.

Once more I cleared the Draugr and eventually I came to a chamber in which stood the Dunmer. As I approached he cried out and was then blasted off his feet to be replaced by a Dragon Priest. What followed was a battle that I did not think I could win, but eventually the Priest crumpled under my axe and the Draugr it had summoned became lifeless once more.

While I was catching my breath, the Dunmer rose from the floor and stumbled towards me. He begged me to let him go and claimed that he had no memory of the events of the last few weeks. Given the number of lives lost in this venture I was tempted to strike him down, but as I had been the one to fund it I was just as responsible for it as he was.

Going against my gut I decided to let him live and as I turned away from him I noticed a suit of ancient armour in an alcove near the back of the room. As I approached it I realised it was the reason I had been drawn to this place.

Golden Fool I'll let you in on a secret not many people know, Ahzidal's armor looks exactly the same as ancient nord armor. To the point that I forgot to equip it after completing the quest.

The Long-Chapper I know, they could have at least retextured it a bit so it looks different. That being said, Helm of Yngol is pretty epic with it.

Golden Fool Well the helm at least you can see in this screenshot and every one since I got it. There's probably a mod out there for the Legendary edition that changes its appearance, but I'm not so sure about SE.
